In the average lifetime, a person will walk the equivalent of 5 times around the equator.

How many times around has Os Trigonum gone?

...I've learned that it helps other people's sense of humor if you happen to be funny yourself.

No accounting for taste, of course...but still...

Maybe you should start another thread about this topic. You only need a couple more to fill up the front page.

well you've gotta admit that it's a lot better than the cesspool of monkeys flinging poo at each other

You say that like you aren't a card carrying member of the barrel of monkeys.

Exactly -- that's what's not funny. Give yourself, say, three D&D threads a week and choose wisely, @Os Trigonum .

Just my two cents. The spamming effect is not funny, but otherwise, I'm all for keeping a sense of humor around here, state of the nation be obviously damned. Making fun of politicians, the deluded partisans, and triggered folks can be pretty funny and therapeutic. But making light of issues that actually affect the lives and health of millions of people, yeah... I can see why people don't line up to laugh for that sort of thing. Cheers.

This is why there’s no right leaning comedians.

There must be some up and coming right-leaning comedians. There used to be that one guy with a mustache and his "you know you're a redneck if" shtick, ("Fox"worthy? LOL), but who else? I guess Penn and Teller (sp) can lean right, and they could be pretty funny at times.

I have a sense of humor. I'm serious. It's hard to be humorous these days, with the current resident of the Oval Office intent on destroying this country, damaging our relations with the rest of the world, insulting and dismissing our allies, the same allies who stepped up to the plate after 9/11, when the NATO clause requiring member states to come to the aid of one of their own who has been attacked was invoked for the first time, the same allies who still have troops in Afghanistan fighting beside our own, and the same current resident of the Oval Office busy exploding our budget and lighting a fuse under inflation, which will be become apparent all too soon, and all the while illegally enriching himself, a violation of the Constitution and an impeachable offense, in my humble opinion. Long enough sentence for you? That, and plenty more that I am sparing you, it being posted here in The Basement in various threads, yet I retain my sense of humor. Really!

I don't necessarily agree with everything you just posted, but it was a heck of a well written rant -- long sentence and all. Your part about the NATO clause was particularly thought provoking. I read D&D for its entertainment value and to see varying perspectives. The best (IMO) make me think. Thanks.
