Has anyone ever renewed their DL online? How long does it take for you to receive your license? thanks!
I saw a special on Marvin Zindler or another similar news segment where a woman paid to have her license renewed online and they still made her go to the DPS and have her picture taken. I'd recommend calling the DPS about it.
i got mine renewed a few years ago online. i received the new license in about 1-2 weeks. they were really fast. the only downside is the picture that was originally taken remains the same, so I still look like a teen in my pic. but its kinda funny to show it to ppl nowadays.
I did it back in January of this year and I got mine in 3 weeks. Its the same picture as now and it costs 25.00 for renewal. 24.00 and then a 1.00 fee for online use. Hey it beats having to retake the tests.
I've heard people complain about having to go to the DPS and get a new picture... I think it's just got something to do with the whole aging thing... Depending on how long it's been since you've last taken a picture there, of course you'll look slightly different. I've used my same picture for the past 6 years, and I renewed mine online this time too. I'm pretty sure that in 2008 I'll have to take a new pic, but I'll be "old" then, so I'll need a new one.
Thanks for the idea. I just changed my address on my license online. I've been meaning to get down to DPS and do this for two years now.
I thought it was going to take forever to get my last drivers liscence renewed or even the time i lost it. But they have changed how they do the lines and if you are just renewing or replacing a lost one you are in and out pretty quick. Everyone is not stuck in the same line like in the past so they have become a lot more efficient.
I'd actually go to the DMV, but I can't because of work (saving my days for SWSX!) nice to know renewing online is quick and easy
My Texas drivers' license expired years ago and I don't have a residence in Texas. I still have my old license, though. Could I renew it online and have the new one sent to Germany (or to a friend in Texas)?
