It's more likely the agent trying to create the rumour/new market for Asik. Asik himself would never say anything to the public, but it's in the interest of opposing teams and agents to leak it to see what kind of reaction the media would have, and if he media reaction can spur trade talks between teams. I doubt Morey will be fazed though, we all knew McGrady was going to be traded, but Morey still fished around for a good deal before pulling the trigger. He'll get good value out of Asik that's for sure.

How does one have loyalty to a team, especially when a team is sabremetric-centric? Not that that's a bad thing, but where some teams have players, the Rockets have ASSETS that they use to trade around. Unless you're a superstar, you're not a person to them, you're just someone they haven't traded yet.
If the story is true, then it makes one wonder why Jeremy Lin didn't ask the same just a few weeks ago.
I can't say I don't feel sympathy for him. He leaves Chicago to start in Houston, only to ends up in the same situation with Howard's acquisition. Hope Morey can get something good for him.
