I could see how it could make sense for them. He was a pretty physical beast in the lower leagues. Maybe he could just overpower people there.

No doubt about it, I am sure that he will be very successful over there.

I always thought with a little effort and patience Dorsey could end up being like a poor man's Ben Wallace in the NBA.

Then I realized he has no basketball talent whatsoever...

In before OHMSS claims that Dorsey would be the 11th best player on the sixth best team which is in the third best league in Europe. Or something to this effect

When you sign a contract in the Greek League it is under Greek League and FIBA rules. Meaning you can wait 2 months to pay a player and they get paid on a 10 month scale.

If you wait 3 months then the club goes into a tribunal with FIBA and the players become free agents. The club then has to pay the remaining salary, plus the court and lawyer costs.

They cannot even play in the league if the player and agent does not get all of their money.

I love how according to some people, all the basketball players in Europe simply play for free - since they "never get paid".

Even though teams cannot even register to play in the league if they don't play the players. Amazing...........how every single year Olympiacos is back registered in the Euroleague, even though they have never paid any players.

BTW, Olympiacos has already signed Kalin Lucas, is negotiation with John Diebler, Joery Dorsey, and they are said to be close to signing Marcus Thornton.

Absolutely amazing, that all of these NBA players and their agents would sign with a team that supposedly has never paid anyone. I mean, according to you, it is common knowledge and no American players ever got paid by Olympiacos.

Very bizarre then that so many NBA players keep wanting to play for them.

Euroleague centers are bigger than the centers in the NBA are. So I doubt it.

Joey better leave If he has the opportunity, because I don't think he has another contract coming to him in the NBA.

you should asterisk NBA players. the ones you mention are d-leaguers or seeking lock-out paychecks.

but if thornton likes greece, i will show him niko nikos and have him play for the rockets.

Olympiacos signed Matt Howard instead of Dorsey. Smart move by them.

Intelligent move by Joey to decline the offer, with Olympiakos in shambles...

He didn't decline any offer. He was their second choice after Howard. Olympiacos is not in "shambles". What are you talking about?
