Norwell and Pugh then draft one in the 3rd still got to address corner I’d be fine just getting 2 OL in FAs
I think expecting them to sign 2 of the top 10 FA tackles might be a bit unrealistic. Given all the teams looking at tackles, I think you'd also have to pay a ridiculous premium above the already crazy market values to "corner the market" so to speak. I imagine the plan will be to run Davenport and the Chris Clark replacement or a draftee on the other side, probably.
The reason they're 'allowing' him to walk is that last contract he took a team friendly deal with the stipulation they would not franchise him. And the Pats don't want to lose him but might not have a choice if we offer +$12mil per season. One unfortunate thing in our favor is that he has a son with cancer that has just recently had the tumor start growing again. We have excellent hospitals here in Houston so if he does decide to leave Boston we would be a good choice in addition to the offense we run, familiarity with coaches, etc... https://www.patsfans.com/patriots/b...-3-5-reasons-beyond-money-likely-play-solder/ http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/...free_agent_nate_solder_should_command_a_hefty
What a stud. This guy should be our top priority with Norwell all but guaranteed a Giant. Whatever it takes. Would be a huge step in the right direction for our OL
Because the Patriots are smart and don't pay guys past their prime big contracts. Like Morey said, he finds the Parsons of the NBA, he doesn't pay them
