^ This. They can't afford to keep all 3. Their keeping MB obviously. They can try and trade Melo, but good luck finding any takers even for expirings. PG13 is tradable and since you have to let 1 go, I think your looking at your most tradable person. But like Woj said, you won't get much if you can't find a team he'd resign with...and you can't take much long term salary back...say an expiring and a good, young player and a pic
If Thunder make Adams the focus of the offense, they can form a Big 4 and be formidable. Adams should be first option and then Thunder can start to turn things around. Anthony needs to come off the bench.
Adams should be the 1st option? C’mon man... the majority of his points were from assists from Westbrook off the PnR or putbacks...
Westbrook and Durant worked well enough to be contenders almost every year. Why did Westbrook and Durant work? Why can't Westbrook work with George and Anthony like he worked with Durant?
I was thinking about it today: This offseason, the Thunder gave Andre Roberson a 3 year, 10million per year deal. He's a good defender. But he basically just runs around aimlessly on offense and the defense doesn't need to worry about him. Meanwhile, we gave PJ Tucker a 4 year year deal, paying him 7.6 million this year. And we gave LMAM a one year minimum deal and are giving him 2.1 million this year. So, if we are keeping track, we are paying less money this year for two guys that are just as good on defense, are extremely versatile, and are less of an offensive liability than the one guy that the Thunder are paying.
With tonight's victory over the Pacers, Thunder now hold the eighth playoff seed. They have turned the corner.
I think they finally found something with Abrines starting. They would be scary If they could just convince Carmelo to be the 6th man. Thankfully Carmelo is a r****d.
Lol is this a serious question? Your comparing PG13 to KD? I won't even waste my time with Melo. KD is so good he masked all of garbage russ deficiencys. It's also the reason they never got back to a finals because russ would blow it with stupid plays in crucial games. KD gets 30 in his sleep on 50/40/90 PG13 has one season at 23 ppg and consistently shoots under 44% he is decent at the three ball though. I love PG13 really think he would fit well next to harden and cp3 in the Ariza role just a better version. But somewhere along the way he got labeled a superstar?!?!? That's crazy talk the guy is a high level 2 way role player, allstar in most years? Yes but he's not a franchise guy just like klay Thompson isn't either. The fans and media has over hyped this 2 way player stuff that if you can play D and avg 20 a night your now some superstar franchise guy and that's just false. It's much harder to find guys like harden and curry there super rare and not known for the defense. Any team, gm and coach would tell You, take the elite superstar offensive guy over the defensive guy who gets 20 a game. And for what it's worth if I was building a franchise right now and had to choose between russ, PG13 and olidipo. I would take Vic all day every day. What he's doing and becoming is incredible. The guy is legit and will only get better. Winning matters and he's getting the stats 24/5/4 with elite D but he's leading a team that was supposed to be a bottom 5 team to a 16-12 record 5th seed in the east and they have a idintity on offense and he's the main reason.
Triple double. That's all that matters. Headline: "Westbrook's triple double led the Thunder to a road win over Indiana." You can't tell that Westbrook scored only 10 points on 17 FGA.
Durant is extremely efficient and was the alpha on that team and even then Westbrook went rogue. Now compound that with the MVP season, and now, Westbrook is unsalvageable.
ESPN's scrolling bar at the bottom said "Thunder get road win over Indiana despite George's struggles." Anything to deflect blame off Westbrook....
Disagree. Abrines is good shooter but his defense is terrible; all the points he puts up, he gives back. Carmelo still wouldn't be effective as a 6th man, he still can't shoot or pass. I don't understand why they keep saying it like this is the magic the Thunder are missing. OKC found something in the NO ALL-STAR bench group with Felton and Pat Pat. Those guys get what Billy D wants the starters to do. They run his offense, move the ball and play defense.
just disagree with this part. PG is still better than EG who we all thought was an all-star last season. maybe not superstar, but definitely a star. put him on a great roster like the Rockets, he can be a superstar too. also, Klay is great. people underrate him because he has very limited role on a great team but removing Klay would make GSW worse by a surprising amount... and it'd be a glaring hole for the Rockets to exploit if they replaced him with anything but top-10 talent in the league. along with Klay, KD, Dray, and even AI, i'd say Steph had a cakewalk to get his MVPs, even if he was great offensively.
