maybe i'm in the minority...but my answer is no. my only question was would he return at all. not where he'd go if he did.
same here. in fact, i found it hard to believe any rational person would actually think that clemens had any desire to go anywhere else at all. and steve philips, peter gammons, and the rest of those bozos at espn can suck my a$$.
they're becoming irrelevant. they break stories that don't happen (not this one). i would give them credit for reporting on the mets, yanks and red sox...but they don't report objectively on those teams...they just over-report everything about them.
It’s official. 1 yr. - 22.2 million for the Rocket. At his press conference he announced the following schedule: 6/6 – Start at Lexington 6/11 – Start at Corpus Christi 6/16 – Start at RR 6/22 – Start for the Stros
Also hope everyone heard him put the kibosh on any Koby callup in September. Now go beat the hell out of the Cards and make it a perfect day for the Stros.
I keep getting calls and emails from friends who think they're telling me something new. I have to tell them "yes, I know. I knew about this 2 hours ago." They just don't understand that ANYTHING that happens, sports or otherwise, is going to break on this site first.
I really hope he can stay healthy for this season or it would be a waste of 22 milion bucks, but he's presence should be able to energize the astros, espeically their pitching staff who have been getting shelled for the past couple of games.
His attitude and personality are EXACTLY what this team needs right now. Lets just hope this gives the team a boost to perform well enough in June to get us within a game or two of the Wildcard by the time he pitches against the Twins.
My response? "STOP CALLING ME, I'M SLEEPING." I mean, I'm glad we got Clemens and all, but don't wake me up. Oh well, now I get to watch the game.
Just to make sure I understand....we're not paying him 22.2 million for the remainder of the year are we? We're probably paying him about 12-14 million for the remainder, they just used 22.2 million because that's what it comes out to for a full year? Pugs
Bill Brown just said in the game that FSN is putting together a special show on the Clemens signing that will play after tonight's Southwest Sports Report.
Yep, it's prorated. $22,000,022 comes out to $14M (per astros.com) or $12M (elsewhere). The Stros have a $106M payroll. Wow.
Now lets see if they get together some bats before or after the deadline to help our team make the run.
