Saw this on another bball site

The Stankovic Continental Federation Cup tournament will be held in July. The Asian Championship will be held in September. (Of course) CBA hopes Yao Ming will make it back to China to join the national team for these tournaments.

However, there is now new variables surfacing that could keep Yao Ming in USA, and will not come back to China for the tournament; he may stay in USA and go under the knife to heal his seriously wore and torn ankle and elbow joint.

Well, the Chinese NT would say: since Yao got injuried in company (Houston) time, he should have surgery during company time. So let Yao have surgery after the Asian tournament in September.

Isn't this Shaq's argument when he had the surgery in LA?

He needs to have offseason training here in the U.S. like other NBA players but if this is true than nothing you can really do about the training either

Summertime is the best time to improve your game and Yao could really use an offseason here in the States

IMHO, this could be an "excuse" for Yao to stay in the USA. He may go thru some kind of "surgery" anyway, arm/leg. Then the team Doctors forbid him leaving.
