I'd love to get inside Yuli's head. Something extra locks in when he's got an RBI opportunity. He doesn't just go up and hope he gets a hit, which he's pretty good at doing. He swings the bat in an intentional way that's designed to get those runs in. The more clutch the situation the less likely I feel like he's going to hit the ball in a way that can turn into a double play. That's mentally-driven batting against major-league pitchers, and it's something very special.
Except when tracking flyballs He definitely seems more clutch than not. He has produced in pressure situations this year. The added *diversity* on the team is good too. Glad Sipp is producing again.
Suddenly, it feels like we've become this 9th inning comeback team reminiscent of last season. It's hard to find any weaknesses in Altuve's game but he tends to try to do too much in those high pressure late game situations where we need a hit. It's like he's overthinking it and then he tends to chase some stuff.
I don't know about that, but I would point out that Reddick is one of the few guys hitting at home (.340something) and since he's come back from the spider flu in early June he's hitting .340something.
