You know coach BOB is gonna say the usual cookie cutter responses about a strong preseason team that looks ready for the season, then week 1 comes and special teams sucks, offense keeps holding and stalling with false starts, and defense can't get stops with the bad pass interference penalties. I don't blame the players completely, I mostly blame the coaches and THE head coach.
I really want trust OB because of his past accomplishments. Getting bad teams to a 9-7 season multiple times is no small feat. He just needs to stay out of his own way.
Did you know that we were the number 1 offense in the NFL once Watson took over? Did you know before Watt and Merci went out we were a top 3 defense and number 1 defense in the NFL before. No one cares who you blame.
Bill O'Brien on Jadeveon Clowney, said he can play the entire game after limited workload in preseason O'Brien says he is impressed with how Deshaun Watson approached his rehab "in a professional manner." Adds he is excited to see him go out and play Sunday. Bill O'Brien on J.J. Watt: 'I'm excited to see him play. He's had a really good offseason.' Bill O'Brien on Deshaun Watson's performance last year against Patriots: 'I mean this guy had beaten Alabama in a national championship game. Never going to be a stage too big for him. He's a very poised young man, very professional.' J.J. Watt "I'm very excited. It's been a grind. I just love being a part of it.' J.J. Watt: 'People's opinions I care about are my family, my friends, my coaches, my teammates, my girlfriend.' J.J. Watt on Tyrann Mathieu 'He's been a great addition'
Let's make Brady throw a fit over on the sideline for the 3rd year in a row. Remember in the playoffs he tried to kick clowney. Last year he was berating his oline.
Romo calling the game is wonderful. Reading the posts ITT regarding BOB's ability is hilarious. Keep 'em coming!
Sure. I b****ed as soon as last preseason game, when all the 1st stringers were supposed to be in. To start the game there was a lack of preparation. 1st play on our defense: pass interference. 1st play of a punt return to us: illegal block in the back. 1st play of our offense: pass drop by Blue. Jus sayin. That's a bad way to start games.
Here's my somewhat detailed analysis of this game... This time around vs. the Patriots is completely different than any of our previous matchups in recent years. On the Texans side... We come in with Deshaun looking to open up his MVP campaign with a bang, a solid WR group, a legit defense with all of its stars completely healthy (not to mention a ballhawk like we've never had before in Tyrann Mathieu) and Romeo as the DC again. Contrast this to last season when Deshaun was playing after a full week of preparation for the first time in his career, Watt still wasn't right from his back injury, Fuller was inactive, we didn't have an intimidating presence in the secondary and we had Vrable calling plays. On the Patriots side... They come into this season-opening matchup seemingly weaker than they have been at any point in the last 5-6 seasons. They have no proven legitimate threat at WR (outside of Hogan, who isn't proven... especially when he doesn't have receivers like Edelman and Amendola lining up with him). Guys like Dorsett and Patterson shouldn't really strike any fear in our DB's. Now, Brady is the GOAT and has done so much in the past with subpar receiving corps, but you could make the argument that this receiving corps (without Edelman for the time being) is the weakest in the league. They have a very suspect offensive line. Their first round pick (Wynn) who was going to start at either RT or LT is out for the season, they lost their quality veteran starting LT from the past 6-7 seasons in free agency and their other tackle is questionable for the game. On top of all this, we've had success at pressuring Brady the past few matchups, we get them week 1 (Patriots have historically been most suspect early in the season) and it's not a night game in Foxboro. I don't think that can be overstated. Foxboro at night is a completely different animal than Foxboro during the day IMO. All of this is to say that this is the best I've ever felt about the Texans vs. the Patriots heading into any of their recent matchups. We might lose despite all of this, however, I really feel strongly that we will pull of our biggest week 1 win in franchise history.
Vegas has us as a +6 dog. Itll be a close game with the kind of betting going on. Well win if theres no more corey moore incidents.
