That's true. Though he's not calling the plays, one would have to assume he has a ton of input into strategy, etc. Last year vs. this year the texans defense no longer has: Watt Mercilus Wilfork Bouye Demps Simon Cushing Even if not all of the above guys are world beaters... it seems like the change in player personnel is the biggest culprit here.
Bill O'Brien on trade rumors Duane Brown: 'I don't have any say in that. Duane played well for us. That's the business side of things.' This is such a noncommittal answer by OBrien...Brown has become a locker room cancer, and his comments have clearly inflamed an already sensitive situation... EDIT: lol at the trade today evening..
If you think that any player in the Texans locker room has any sort of issue with Duane Brown you are nuts.
I don't think they have problems with him personally, but I'd say his situation was definitely a distraction.
Didn't realize you were a part of the locker room and interact with the team personally on a daily basis. I mean, unless you are on the team, you know 5% of what the Duane Brown saga is actually about. I'm not going to listen to the opinions of a guy who doesn't know the full story.
He was a big part of why an inoffensive statement was turned into some kind of protest worthy scandal....I mean, even if the other guys liked him, it's obvious that he was doing everything in his power to sabotage the Texans this year, thus he was a cancer. It's not hard to see. Also, it's telling that the majority of the O line made up the 10 Texans that decided to remain respectful during the anthem rather than joining Duane Brown's BS. Clearly he was REALLY respected by that O line.
That is 100% conjecture on your part. DeAndre Hopkins and D'Onta Foreman were the ones that walked out of practice. You don't like Brown's politics or opinions and you're glad he's gone? Cool... don't make **** up out of thin air to further your narrative though.
Yeah, they were 2 players who were dumb enough to let Duane Brown work them up about something inoffensive. His goal was to work them up so that they'd protest with him and he got a lot of the team to disgrace themselves....which is all the more reason why it's good that they sent that POS packing.
I wonder if the only reason Brown didn't leave is because the only reason he even showed up was to get credit for this season?
Prediction: Texans and BO'B will part ways at the end of the season. The tension is rising. What a shame.
Assumptions. All i know is brown left for fking potential picks, and a cb that is sht. Who is going to protect our savior watson? Brown maybe cancer but at least he made da offensive line better. I don't give a fk if a player protest or not as long as we get the win. Not gonna get a win with potential picks and sht cb.
Texans' Bill O'Brien says Lamar Miller run 'poorly communicated' by him Texans coach Bill O'Brien has endured plenty of second-guessing and criticism following an ill-fated third-down call that was stopped and led to the Seattle Seahawks' comeback victory Sunday. O'Brien called three consecutive runs for running back Lamar Miller. The first one off left guard gained just one yard. The second one in the same direction picked up five yards. The third run, this time up the middle, was stopped after a two-yard gain by Sheldon Richardson and K.J. Wright. What happened? Why not throw the football or have rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson roll out? O'Brien didn't offer a ton of details in his explanation because he said it would reveal strategy. He emphasized that communication wasn't good enough, and it was on him. “It was just poorly communicated by me," he said in the wake of a 41-38 loss. "That’s what I’m trying to say. I take the blame for that. “I would just tell you it was a poorly communicated play. I would hope that we would eventually be able to move on from that and look toward Indianapolis. That one’s on me. There were 73 offensive plays in the game and I call all of them.”
