Patriots get to kick (tomato) can known as Houston Texans
Been here. Done this.
The Patriots will finally play their first postseason game Saturday night and wouldn’t you guess . . . they are playing a team with absolutely zero chance to win the game.
Enjoying the spoils of their hard-earned top seed, the 14-2 Patriots will face your friends and mine, the All World Tomato Cans, the Houston Texans.
In a game that could be best described as the NFL’s answer to Mariah Carey’s New Year’s Eve Show, the Texans beat the quarterback-less Raiders, 27-14, Saturday to advance to the divisional round. New England’s dream matchup with fourth-seeded Houston became official Sunday when Pittsburgh routed the terrible Dolphins.
This could not have worked out better for the Patriots.
^ i hope this is taped on the entry way to the locker room
that being said, i'm praying for a close game.
Patriots win 20-6.
Haha I love this. There should be no shortage of fuel this week to get them going. Win or lose, should be no excuse to not give it their best.
Gotta go balls out. Hard to see them winning this, but stranger things have happened in the playoffs. Go in there and fight like helll and make the Pats earn it and feel the pain.
I actually laughed. I would say tape it to the bulletin board, but I don't think it's really going to matter. In fact, Belichick probably wants us angry. It would make things more interesting for him.
Who wrote this article, @DaDakota ?
I was 99% sure before I clicked the link that it was Pedro Martinez's "curly-headed girlfriend", professional troll and news hack Dan Shaughnessy.
Texans 31 Patriots 27
I'm still stunned Brock is starting. We need someone who isn't such a huge INT risk.
It's all gravy now after winning our home playoff game. This season could have easily been another losing record and no playoffs after the lost of JJ.
Not going to be pretty, unfortunately. Hoping for the best, but fearing the worst.
I feel optimistic about this game
Texans need to get tricky.
Snowball rolls into hell
Journey could have easily said, why are we going to tour through Houston? It's dirty, too hot, too humid for my hair. But no, they embraced the challenge and gave our mothers a performance to remember.
You play, you get chippy, dirty even and you remind those patriots fans of what they were prior to the tuck rule. Tomato sauce from tomato cans is a hard stain to wash!
