I don't understand why we didn't pick up one of the Linemen available. FA Oliners are pretty dry now, Idk how I feel about a rookie blocking for Watson.
There has been some talk about Clowney in recent days that leads me to believe that there may be something on the medicals that may be hindering them signing him long term or from teams dealing for him. Im not 100% on this but thought it was interesting and wanted to pass it along. There have been at least 4 teams that have inquired about clowney via trade thus far. Asking price from Houston was a 1st and a mid round pick or experienced player. I still dont believe they move him and i think they will eventually sign him long term but its interesting that they arent shying away from inquiries.
I still think they need to sign a guard. I'd definitely explore signing Josh Sitton after he was cut, assuming he's healthy for 2019.
He had microfracture surgery. That's enough to scare anyone from paying him over 100 million with 65 million or more guaranteed. I couldn't think of a more ideal candidate for the franchise tag.
After you draft Reid as your first pick as a GM. There will be some bias in to thinking you can find studs every pick. Building through the draft is fine, but the Texans have Deshuan Watson playing for pennies right now. Take advantage of that through free agency when you can. They should have grabbed Juwan James or Trent Brown. The money and cap is always climbing, so next year a team will offer a little above average tackle the record deal.
People are just coming up with excuses to justify the lack of activity. He is so smart he knows exactly who is going to be cut and who is going to be available at 1-23. LOL. There's nothing wrong with saying "It's been bad" and "hope it gets better".
Unrelated but how was Duane Brown last year? Seems like we had to trade him, just curious. Was/is he still a beast? Or has he declined since his Texans days
