Is Kirk Cousins a FA or did he sign an extension? are there any OT/G available in FA?

There might as well not be. Anyone who is starter caliber you'd have to pay too much for and the Texans have a LOT of places to spend money on this offseason. OT has to be the first round pick.

But then I couldn't make my joke about how getting Hackenberg is a terrible idea.. He barely made the Jets roster.

He's free. Can the skins tag him back to back years?

Usually teams can franchise players twice in a row, so unless there's something weird preventing them from doing so, they should be able to.

    It is.

I suppose there are others who could hit the market(trade/FA). As to whether we want them or have the resources to get them...

Chicago: Jay Cutler & Brian Hoyer
    Cincinnati: A.J. McCarron
Buffalo: Tyrod Taylor & EJ Manuel
Cleveland: Robert Griffin & Josh McCown
    Tampa: Mike Glennon
    Arizona: Drew Stanton
    Kansas City: Nick Foles
    Dallas: Tony Romo
    Miami: Matt Moore
    Philadelphia: Chase Daniel
    San Francisco: Colin Kaepernick
    Jacksonville: Chad Henne
New York: Take your pick - Ryan Fitzpatrick, Geno Smith, Bryce Petty, Christian Hackenberg
    New England: Jimmy Garoppolo
    Oakland: Matt McGloin
    Los Angeles: Case Keenum
    Washington: Colt McCoy
    Pittsburgh: Landry Jones
    Tennessee: Matt Cassel

And those you dream about but aren't available:
    San Diego: Philip Rivers
    Detroit: Matthew Stafford
    New Orleans: Drew Brees

Probably better off heading to the draft.

Rick Smith doesn't believe in drafting QBs

Haha I was thinking the exact same thing.. Jesus, I mean Cousins isn't top of the line, but compared to that list he's elite.

We need to bring in a Vet WR to help these young'uns.
Does anyone know what Mahommes has been projected as? I'd rather not trade up, but if he's projected as a second rounder getting an OT in the first and then trading up in the second round to get Mahommes would suit me fine. We have trouble hitting on our 3rd and 4th round picks anyway so I'd give either up to move up for Mahommes if they believe him to be the truth.

Just go with Savage and draft someone for the future.

I remember last year someone said Ryan Nassib could be a potential steal, much like Matt schaub was when Texans traded for him.

Why do people only remember Schaub's last year with us? He was a good QB during most of his time here. I'm no Matt Schaub apologist, but his prime years with us were damn satisfying for me as a Texans fan. He was good. Would love to have a prime Schaub on this team with this defense.

So, just looking at the draft order as it stands. I counted 6 teams that at least have some interest in a QB that draft before us at 25
    Browns
    49ers
    Bears
    Jets
    Chargers
    Cardinals

Now I know what you are thinking, Chargers and Cards, not really, but both of those team's qbs are 36+ and Rivers might even leave.
While not all of these teams will take a QB first round because it is not their biggest need, they still will pick before us again every round (the Browns actually get 2 picks before we are even up...)

That being said, names I have heard so far for QB's (granted there is a lot of film and picking apart their play about to happen but just so far) have been: Kizer, Mahommes, Watson, Kaaya, Trubisky..

If we don't have a Jimmy G, Rivers, Romo, Cousins, or something (I feel like we could make a play for Tyrod Taylor as well) come draft day, we need to take one of these in the first round. Maaaaaaybe Kaaya (lol aay) makes it to us in the 2nd, but I doubt any of the rest do and this is a pretty weak class after any of them. Or, take an OL first then trade next 2 picks to come back into the first before the browns/49ers/bears get another crack..

Just my opinion, but if we wait, whether you think this QB class is strong or not, there will be nothing left by round 2 barring some serious mishaps and film study on the path to the draft.
