It seriously sucks having my friend, who is a browns fan, talk trash. Sundays haven't been too fun for about two months now.... 7 weeks since Houston last win.
With Wade Phillips taking over head coaching duties this week, I wondered what his philosophy was concerning the coin toss and whether to receive or defer. Turns out he's just like Kubiak. I looked at Phillips' last season with the Cowgirls in 2010 where he got fired midway through the season. Whenever they won the toss they elected to receive. So, the Texans will get the ball first if they win the toss. Looking at Arizona's decisions this year with Bruce Arians as coach, they also elect to receive whenever they win the toss.
It is smart. Our defense is mentally weak. When the offense gains momentum for them, they play better. See last week. They were on fire in the first half. As soon as special teams reared its ugly head, they crumbled.
Will Grubb of CBS Houston reports that Reed has lost his starting job in Houston. I'm guessing this is from the Colts game where Keo and Swearinger where it there.

Watch Andre lead the WR's in TD's by the end of the year. That was the best quarterbacked game the Texans have had since the 2012 season opener. The kid likes to take his shots and trust Andre on the fades. I love how Schuab would talk about how much coverage Andre gets in the red zone. He never threw it to DRE. As soon as Keenum gets down there, he knew where to throw it. Great throw.
Re: Ed Reed Unbelievable. We are winless since he came into the lineup, btw. This guy is going to go down nearly in Pippen territory in my book. What a joke. Joseph clearly hasn't been the same, but you look at those two long TD passes last week and where was the safety help over the top?
Which is an even larger indictment on him, when the opposing team is clearly in pass mode and our prized Free Agent isn't even on the field in favor of a 5th round draft pick, special teams guy.

Actually, one of the throws was pretty bad, location wise. But Andre was on the same page and knew it was coming and made a great catch. Defender didn't stand a chance.

I was thinking if I should root for the Texans to win or lose. I was undecided, because I want our players to perform well, yet at the same time I can easily see another 8-8 season with all the typical Kubiak/McNair bullcrap to excuse to keep the status quo. In the end, the idea that Kubiak and Marciano may be fired is too tempting. So I want to see a L.
