I'm 100% sure Morey low balled him. I have to believe Fisher accepted it for negotiations to be over already. I suspect the conversation went something like this.

Morey: He Derek. We're really happy to have you on board. We could really use you right now with Lowry out.

    Fisher: What about a buyout.

Morey: Like I said we could really use you right now but we'll give you a buyout if you opt out of next year.

    Fisher: Are you f#4king crazy!

    Morey: No.

    Ring RING

    Morey: Hello

    Fisher: Hey Morey...

Morey: Oh Derek, Hi! How are you?

Fisher: Hey I'll accept 3 million for the complete buyout.

Morey: Sorry I can't do that but we'll give you 100% of this year if you opt out of next year.

    Fisher: Are you crazy!

    Morey: No

Fisher: Come on Man let me go.

Morey: Sorry Derek I can't do that unless you opt out. We have big plans for you next year. We are planning on sending you down to McAllen. The Vipers can really use a backup like you.

Morey: Oh Derek! How are you?

Fisher: Send me the f$#king papers I want out

Morey: And you agree to opt out.

Fisher: YEAH! Just send me the f@#king papers

Morey: Yes Derek I'l get right on it. It's been a pleasure doing...

Probably true except I suspect Morey called collect and told Derek to take the greyhound to Phoenix.

He can't return to the Lakers this season under the new CBA, but is it okay to return to the Lakers as their AC for this season, and sign with them as a player next season?

Motiejunas will be with the team next year, but Llull is not likely at all.

How much did we buy him out for? I didn't see a figure.
Les paid $3.4 million for a pick that is likely going to end up worse than the pick we will likely end up trading to NJ.

OT: Is T-Will still on the roster?

Glad. Did not want to watch him in a Rockets uniform. Soon he will retire and the Lakers will be rebuilding.

Fisher just got entitled to a perpetual booing from Houston.

I think he can join them in 30 days, because he was waived.

I love the diversity of this site.... half filled with "Dwight & D Will to Houston for our 09ers" and the other half mock our constant mediocrity as a reason why we won't get a superstar.... gotta love Clutchfans.

This SHOULD have been worked out 2 days ago just so I didn't have to see Fisher in that horrible ESPN player profile with the mock up of his would have been Rockets jersey... even that was enough to make me throw up in my mouth. He should never wear our red, unless it's caused by a Scola elbow.

But the fact that he was traded trumps that right?

If you're traded, your former team can't re-sign you in that league year. Period. End of rule. Nothing can change that I'm pretty sure or the NBA league lawyers aren't worth the $$ they got paid to improve that language in the CBA.

So no word yet on how much of a cap hit Fisher represent next year? To me that's the only important thing in all of this, since we only traded for him in order to get the pick that came with his contract.

Poor Fish. everyone is raking him over coals on ESPN chat boards. :) I dont know how he looks like the bad guy in all of this. 5,000 comments of "Fisher is the worst ever and the Rockets did not need a washed up player" up and down the comment section. It seems they get he was a throw in for a draft pick nationally and he just pouted and looked bad while doing so.:p

I want to know if he didn't want to play here, or we don't want him? Anyway, I know for sure j*zz and Rocks fan are in agreement with Fisher. I believe he's going to the Bulls, or Magic.

Yeah I really don't get it. At least we don't have to see Fish wearing Rockets' red.
