I put this game on Schaub and the defense. Schaub play wasn't actually bad but he hardly stepped it up. The defense however once again wallowed in its own ****.

    This x100000000.

When he caught a ball yesterday I was just happy to know he wasn't dead.

He has to be a cap casualty in the offseason.

Russell Wilson would have won that game for us yesterday.

Is the Tardis really bigger on the inside as they make it out on the Telly?

People clamouring for a new receiver are fooling themselves at this point. Aside from the limited cap situation (Schuab's new contract is looking like a ghostly chain from the Christmas Carol right now), you have to look at how this team has handled the guys they do have on the roster.

Schaub attempted 51 passes with 41 targets were to the same 4 players, Casey, Foster, Daniels and Johnson. Look at that list, the guy was throwing to check downs targets, he rarely went deep and when he did they required guys to pull out magic tricks to bring them down. Add in I never once saw him try to pump fake, he is playing the calls provided like a robot, just like how Kubiak abandoned using Tate or Forsett in the playoffs to just ride Foster.

You ride your best players but by not actually changing it up, you are making the team easy to defend. Especially when your favorite targets just show your QB can't make 'the big play'.

    Kubaik just doesn't get.

He calls first down plays on second down (WR screen, HB screen). Passing plays that are like runs need to be called on first down.

Oh what I would do to have Art Briles on any offensive guru as our OC.

Funny, people around here said he was the perfect #2.

    Sigh...

Nope but he would have put more points on the board by getting extra first downs with his mobility. Got em!!!

What Russell did yesterday was simply remarkable. In that hostile environment, all while being a rookie! Marshawn Lynch did him no favors in the run game too.

I think a significantly less amount of 3 and outs probably amounts to more than 3 points. It would have put NE on their heels, and not allowed them to focus so much on shutting down our TEs. Wilson would have been amazing in a Texans uniform. I'm not saying that Schaub was the sole reason we lost yesterday, but come on.....this offense was completely sputtering for 3+ quarters.

Funny because the seahawks offense sputtered for 3 quarters as well.

Look, I have nothing against Wilson and he's a heck of a story but texans still lose against NE with or without him.

Oh, no doubt they lose, but what Wilson brings to the table as far as mobility and arm strength means every single play has the ability to be special. I'm not saying Wilson would have been a savior for this season, but Seattle fans feel a lot better about their QB situation (and overall future) than Texans fans this morning.

This is the part that hurts the most. Something has to change, I don't want to go back to 2-14.

    Sigh...

We could all do something better. When your the QB, you get the praise and the blame. I would talk about Matt like everyone - we left plays on the field. You can't leave any when playing a team like that. There are plays for him to make. We could also help him. It goes with the territory.

(If you saw 2nd or 3rd round QB, would you consider it?) We look at everything. I believe in Matt. He's our QB. No doubt about him. He's won 70% of his starts (last 2 years). I feel good about our QB. Our team has to get better. I have a lot of confidence in him.

We threw the ball down the field. QB threw for 300+ yards.

(Why no 4 wides?) We did 3 wides in the game. 4 wides is not us. We're (usually) 3 TEs.

(Ruud on the outside. Mismatch?) When you play these guys, you'll get caught in those match-ups. We were caught in quite a few of them. When you play NE and they go empty, you'll get caught.

My first process is siting down with McNair. I take a look at what I did and how I handled things. Me? Bob evaluates me. I'll sit down with him quickly here.

No doubt in my mind we took a step forward. 13 games won, a lot to be said for that. This organization continues to move forward.

(How close?) Every year is different. Biggest thing is you have to be in position every year to be a playoff team.

Ben (Tate) is a 3 year player, 1 year big time contributor. This year, had good moments, setback by injuries and obviously (we're) not taking the ball out of 23's hands. He needs to back bounce next year.

We started fast in a lot of games. Didn't play the way we wanted to as a team down the stretch. Yesterday, had a chance to start fast. You gotta overcome those things. You play 4 quarters.

(One thing you (wish you) could do better?) Consistency down the stretch. We scored more points than we have ever scored (in franchise history). #2 receiver in football, #4 rusher, & a 4000 yard passer. We want to be the best. We could have been more consistent. That's the biggest thing. Why weren't we more consistent?

(We) Lost balance in our pass rush (w/ Cushing out, Reed injured.)

What they(NE) do is, they won't change personnel. Things we worked on, we didn't handle as well as (when) we practiced.
