If Winston slips after this performance, do we take him if he's there? I'd love to take a chance on him, but I can't see us pulling the trigger.
No way we draft Winston. If by some chance he does fall to us I bet we leverage that to trade down. I don't like him as a pro prospect, at least not as a high pick that you commit 3 years to. He's been mediocre most of the year, and his perpetual poor decisions off the field scare me. He has the look of a guy that isn't gonna do what he needs to be a great NFL QB.
There is no way use another pick to draft another TE. We just resigned Graham and drafted CJ pretty high. If we're hoping for tight end help, it has to come from within
After the results of choosing Clowney this past year, as well as seeing what played out with Johnny Manziel, I cannot see us going for a guy like Winston for whom off the field issues might be a concern. O'Brien is going to wait for a guy who you have to physically drag out of the film room. A guy like Bridgewater, oh wait....
He did well enough against K-State and got UCLA off to a good start this season. He might've been overshadowed in the PAC-12 because of Marcus Mariota and the Ducks doing so well these past few years. I don't know much else about him or if he's going to go pro just yet. I'm sure the Texans are keeping an eye on anyone that can work well within their offense.
Hundley is gonna get taken in the 1st round. I don't think he necessarily grades out as a 1st round player, but someone will reach on him. It happens every year.
Teams reach for QBs in the first round every year: 2013: Manuel (16) 2012: Weeden (22) 2011: Locker (8) Gabbert (10) Ponder (12) 2010: Tebow (25) 2009: Sanchez (5) Freeman (17) 2008: Flacco (18) a reach at the time that obviously has worked I agree that Hundley will grade out to a 2-4th round QB, but it only takes one team to reach for a 2nd-4th round grade. Hundley has the build, arm, and athleticism to infatuate teams., and I think one team will definitely make the stretch to ensure that they get him.
