I'm surprised they have kept the lead in the AL even though it has shrunk ! Playing all these minor leaguers had to eventually catch up to them
Team is choosing to play them instead of adding vets like other teams. Stassi is unavoidable. Rare that both of your catchers are on DL.
You kind of have to let Marwin hit there I would think. Hinch chooses to put the bat in Stassi's hands, however.
This offense will be beastly again soon but ****ing A it sucks right now at producing runs. Dude was better off striking out. Or being less fat. On the flip side he probably out runs any of our other catchers.
That was a weird choice given the lineup. Walking Beltran with an open base was obvious - so you take the bat out of Marwin's hand to give it to Stassi? If Marwin Ks, you still have Beltran batting with the go ahead run on.
Exactly. It was 100% certain that Beltran was being walked after that bunt. I get why he did it but I don't like the move at all. I'll take Marwin with a guy at 2nd over Stassi with a guy on third.
Marwin probably did it on his own because he is struggling but still... just bad. They lessened their run expectancy with that bunt.
Well first it's going to require people to come back from injury. Not the magical production of stassi, centeno and JD Davis. This isn't the same team as it was a couple months ago and that's because it's literally different players. I'm frustrated too but this is what happens when you go from a lineup without an easy out to one with multiple holes.
Regardless of the cause(s), we are the tale of two clubs. The .700+ club in the Spring and the .500 club most of the Summer. Our overall record is misleading when it comes to how we have looked lately. Obviously the hope/strategy is that we get everyone back and flip the switch. Easier said than done.
