    Because let's face it, at least 15 of us will be breaking down every single appearance/no-show as a Piston.

    I was going to use 2010-2011 in the title, but figured we should just wait and see first :-D

    Season opener tonight at New Jersey

    Home Opener Friday against the Thunder


    I'm honestly on the fence - with him only now practicing again, I don't think odds are great that he plays tonight. He's currently listed as third on the depth chart behind Rip and Gordon.

    Using that guy's name in the thread title is going to be a mistake. As I've already explained, any discussion involving him will be fit for the Hangout instead of anything sport related by the end of the season.

    To call it The Offical Detroit Pistons thread would be disingenuous, and this heads off a dozen separate threads titled "McGrady sucked tonight!" or "McGrady's back!"

    blink and Ankgor Wat will of course descend to chastise anyone speaking badly about Tracy and DD and tinman will be kicking him in the nuts at every opportunity. It's coming, it's inevitable, I'm just going ahead and setting up the container.

    i don't have much hope anymore for tmac. for his sake, i hope this last attempt will go well. i will be watching peripherally b/c he is still one of my favorite players.

    If his role is limited to getting open off screens and hitting wide-open shots, then he can still be a factor. Athelticism (or lack thereof) doesn't affect his deadly mid-range game.

    I miss the explosiveness he once had, I wish I could I see him just rise up and dunk over Shawn Bradley again :grin:

    Good post. The funniest thing is 90% of Pistons fans are already DONE with Tracy and don't expect anything from him.

    But he actually promised to play hard during those 15 minutes. I guess he will stand in the corner real hard.

    McGrady will once again thrive in a faciliator role. He could easily average 15-18 points a game with 5+ assists.

    Unless he's a dead-eye 3-pointer shooter (which he isn't), there isn't much value in that role. And his body won't allow him to be anything but a liability on defense.

    Maybe there's a place for him in China.
