The Falcons run defense is ranked 2nd. The Falcons passing defense is ranked 25th. Not the matchup the Texans needed this week. Best case: Falcons 14 Texans 12 Worst case: Falcons 27 Texans 6
You can also look at it at a glass half-full view. Their run defense is good? Good! Our rushing attack is elite! Let's see what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object! Rookie third-string quarterback? Good thing we're going against a terrible pass defense!
This is the game that will either make or break our season IMO. If we win and Yates does good then all hope will be restored. If we lose and Yates flops then there goes our season.
Kubiak is gonna have to really give the kid the keys to the offense. He doesn't need to know every play but we have to trust him enough not to let the Falcons put safeties in the box constantly.
Wrong again, losing to the Falcons who had the best record in the NFC last season and playing a QB who's making his first career start, does not mean our season is over.
Texans 28 Falcons 23 Foster runs for 3 touchdowns, Yates runs for his life and throws for one. ¡¡¡VAMOS, TEXANS!!!! ¡¡A GANAR en DEEP STEEL BLUE SUNDAY!!!! DANG NAZIs will pay for what they did at Little Big Horn.
the falcons have not been great on the road this year. overall road record, 3-2 with 3 wins against Seattle, Detroit, and Indy and 2 losses against TB and Chicago. I think our defense is better than all of those teams and our running game is better than all of those teams, even Chicago. So at home with Yates and our running game and defense, we should win a close one.
ALSO, I'm repping people for predicting a TEXANS win. Good stuff on the "ROAD" thing. Also, good point on neither of those teams, except for Detroit and maybe Chicago, could have beaten them. Our D is tougher than probably all combined.
I had questions about this game before Matt and Matt went down. Now this one is really tough. I suppose Falcons are favored, but I don't think the running game will be as bad as they were against the Jags. Surely not. Our defense is elite, we need them to score a few points. My heart says the Texans pull it out; my head says the Falcons may win big. Turnovers will likely determine the outcome. Another really, really interesting game to watch.
Ha. Right? I'm thinking Falcons 16 Texans 6 - our defense is going to be on the field way too often but manages to hold the Falcons to a TD some field goals. The offense, however, remains stinky as Atlanta stacks the box and dares us to throw.
I predict a 75-yard touch down first play of the game with a play action bootleg from Yates to Johnson plus two rushing TD's from Arian and one from Tate en route to a 28-13 Texans victory
I will be shocked if the Texans don't put up 50. Texans - 17 Falcons - 21 I don't care how this game turns out. It will not make or break our season. It is the toughest game we'll have from here on out (with a close second being Cincy next week), and will be an excellent test for young Mr. Yates. I think we'll lose. I am extremely excited to see this game Sunday. I don't care what happens, I love this team. This has been, without a doubt, my favorite season as a Texans fan. This will also be the first game I get to watch on tv this year. Screw slow, choppy internet feeds! I'm pumped! Moreso than any game I can remember in a long time. (I seem to be saying that every week, though)
