Going against Bob may be the best thing to do. Bob didn’t bring a championship here. Maybe Cal goes the other way and take risk. Not saying we should or shouldn’t sign Kareem. Wish we had him. Also, hate what he did.
If the Texans play Coutee it should be deemed negligence. Hamstrings don't heal in days. Sit him until Week 16 minimum.
I guess as long as they don't do it while on their team they will pick up women beaters. Even worse is the fact that the woman he choked and assaulted was stupid enough to get engaged to him 3 years after he pleaded guilty to assaulting her. Sad how weak women can get lured right back into the web of abusers, only to find out that history has a tendency of repeating itself in abusive relationships. The NFL is a cesspool of thug types like that though unfortunately.
I guess we will find out soon. Maybe he feels ready, but isn't in football shape, and Bill doesn't want to do anything to risk ruining him for next year too. But, if he is ready, now is the time to start working him in before playoffs.
Said it before and I'll say it again... If this team wants to be a big shark in this league, it's got to smell blood in the water. 8 wins in a row. Win out and you have a shot at a first round bye. Playing a rookie quarterback. If you're going to be taken seriously on a national level (not that that matters much), you've got to forget that you play your best division rival next week, and you've got to go in there and whoop an underrated Browns team this week. They've got a good rookie quarterback. Our defense is better. They should want to embarrass this kid. They've got a good young defense. Our offense is better. Deshaun should be looking to hang 50. Don't look beyond this Browns team. They'll embarrass you if you do. In the past, that's exactly what would happen to our Texans. If this is the year we've turned the corner, we'll come out and take care of business in a big way. If we lose to the Browns, it'll be a big yawn from me. I'll be expecting a first round exit from the playoffs, as per usual. One game at a time. One win at a time. Get it done.
1. Colts getting healthier 2. I did a quick Google search on Good. Looks like he can play 3. Can he provide valuable Intel on the Texans' next opponent?
Checking some other fan boards, I found numerous comments from Browns fans and players that they have played a better schedule, that we are pretenders, and that Mayfield is better than Watson. I hope some of that stuff makes into the Texan's locker room. Check the Yahoo sports pre-game report comments section for a bunch of it.
Browns fans have been clamoring for something that resembles even a third string quartback for about twenty years now. Of course the first thing they get, they're going to cling to, and he's going to be the best one ever. That's just the type of people they are. Trust me, I've been around a lot of them. Soon as Baker struggles against our defense, they'll come back down to earth.
Mayfield gets hyped when he wins 2 games in a row. Somehow all of Watson's media love disappeared when he hurt himself his rookie year and started off slow this year. Now Mayfield is the new golden boy QB if I had to choose one right now in the NFL. The only reason people say mayfield is better than watson is because Mayfield is the new media sensation. People have short term memories. Watson's rookie season was electric and far better than Mayfield's so far. It sucks that he got injured. Now in his 2nd year (even though Watson and Mayfield are still basically the same age) Watson is also having a better year.
Baker is good. But I don't see anyone saying he is better than Watson. Anyone without a bias that is. Most of the rankings I have seen show Wentz, Goff, and Mahommes as the only young quarterbacks ahead of Deshaun. Baker has intangibles, like Watson, that makes teammates and fans want to go to war for him. He might be annoying if you're not rooting for him but you love him if he is on your team. He was my favorite QB in this past draft. A good comparison i heard on the radio is Alex Bregman.
If the Chiefs lose to the Raiders (not as crazy now without their star running back) and the Patriots lose to the Vikings (very possible), and the Texans take care of business tomorrow; the Texans will hold the top seed in the AFC. Crazy
