My dad was a Big Red Machine fan since we lived so close to Cincy. He followed Rose over to the Phillies. I have always stood on my own, even as a kid, I guess. Funny, I’d be crushed if my boys didn’t love and enjoy the Astros and Rockets with me. Glad they do.
As a team, the Indians offense against us in the series was: .144 / .196 / .222 Lindor was the only guy with a good series. http://www.espn.com/mlb/team/stats/batting/_/name/cle/cleveland-indians
that was us against the braves and those pesky padres once. May you find success in the distant future, cleveland.
Great series sweep Astros! Time to reset. Two players ive been wary of all season, Reddick and Keuchel, made an impact in the games. I hope that continues in the ALCS!
I think that's what's mind-blowing about all of this. We love the Killer B's, but today's Astros are succeeding where the Killer B's failed. It's not too crazy to think that today's Astros should supplant the Killer B's in the hearts of everyone. I'm really curious what older Astros fan think though I'd probably guess that Biggio and Bagwell will always be number one in their hearts.
As much love as I have for Biggio, Bagwell, Spiers, Oswalt, Berkman, etc., this squad has surpassed them. As a team and as ambassadors for our city, they've done amazing things that no past Astros team has. That feeling last Nov. 1 was something I wasn't sure I'd ever get to experience. Nothing any previous Astros team has done before that comes close.
I have been an Astros fan since having to tape and watch Mike Scott's no hitter against the Giants to clinch the NL West in 1986 due to taking my driving test. Killer B era was fun. But them in the playoffs was just torturous. This team here. Special. No way around it. We have had some good pitching combo's before. Ryan, Scott, Knepper. Rocket, Pettite and Oswalt. Now we have JV, Cole and even DK was solid. I think the Killer B's will always be special to a degree, but that term is no longer exclusive to them.
This era is the greatest set of Astros ever assembled that I've seen. I still love the Killer B's as much as I always have.
