Have to assume, at the best the A's lose 4 more games the rest of the season. Rays, Angels (2X) Mariners. That's under the scenario they win every series 2-1 and sweep the Twins. That puts them at 101-61. We can realistically lose 6 more games and still hold onto the division lead. Going 10-6 the rest of the season shouldn't be too hard, we play our last 7 games against the Blue Jays and Orioles.

Of course, the A's miss Snell... smh

We can't rest players due to OAK's surge.... and terrible replay reviews from umps.

You know what was meant... I hope.

Osuna nor Rondon is a factor in what was meant.

Morton is getting an extra day. And Correa and springer are rotating off days as well.

You’re right, it’s not difficult. You just love to keep picking fights with certain posters here and it’s really starting to get old.

We're half-way into September and Correa has missed ONE start. On Monday, he complained about his back affecting his swing, and hasn't had a day off since. Yeah, he's really getting the rest he needs. Both Springer and Altuve could likely use a few consecutive days off. Springer shouldn't be grimacing in pain because he swung a bat. Altuve shouldn't be hobbling because he put weight on his knee. But, we can't give them proper down-time due to 1) OAK and 2) terrible umpiring.

Certain posters who "forget" obvious things like that by giving stupid responses are the ones picking fights. Why even respond with Osuna and/or Rondon when Hinch doesn't pitch anyone 3 days consecutive in the first place ? Why? Because certain people just wanna have "something to say". You're just upset because I call them out about it.

If you can't handle the truth, use the ignore function. We're still H-Town Sports homies, regardless :)

Pressley and Osuna were the only relievers to pitch Tuesday. Since Osuna pitched Monday, he was the only reliever that was "unavailable" due to Hinch's 3 day policy. With an off day today, Hinch would not have been risking losing a pitcher to his 3 day policy by using them yesterday. Even with all of that, he chose to not pitch any of the playoff roster "lock" relievers except for Pressley. Even in the middle of a division title race with 4 innings left and a small lead, Hinch rested the majority of his bullpen.

Hinch decided to give a 1-run 9th inning save opportunity to a guy who had exactly 1 9th/extra inning save opp (in 2016) in 300 career games.

Winning a WS let's you do that. Not many managers would have left James in there. Of course it was nearly a mistake.

Because they don't think he's good or because they don't trust their judgement that he's good?

1 run game late, managers generally take the safe bet and put in the proven trusted veterans, especially after going through the lineup once. I think most managers would have pulled him following the HR. Even those with a long leash would have after the tying run on base.

It is a ballsy long-term move (really, so was Boston). Hinch has the clout now to do those things, even if traditionally most managers would take the safer route. You won't get much 2nd guessing bringing Pressley in at that point (or Rondon). You'll get plenty if James gives up the lead.

It did take huge balls and he deserves credit for it.

It worked and it also allows for the Astros to see how he handles pressure when deciding on the post season roster.
