All series talk goes in here. Non series talk goes somewhere else. No PBP, that can be found from other sources if you need it. All games are broadcast on AT&T Sports SW unless otherwise noted. 7-2 Jose Urquidy (R) vs. German Marquez (R) 7:10 7-3 Wade Miley (L) vs. Peter Lambert (R) 7:10
I would not want my first MLB Start in Colorado. Especially a pitcher that relies on breaking balls. Best of luck Jose
Tall task being called up from Triple-A to make your first start at Coors field. Keep it close until Yordan comes in for a pinch hit HR late in the game.
The total runs in the last two series there (SD and LA) were: 15, 28, 22, 27, 20, 22, 8, 15 Five straight games with 20+ runs. Insanity.
It coulda been London, so you have to look at the bright side. Ashley Judd is still looking for him. And he is the real deal. Think everyone is going to be shocked. Not awed. But shocked.
Great timing being in Colorado for this series. May attend a game, but will at least be downtown by the stadium for sure. Denver built the area up nicely.
I feel bad for the Rockies. They have by far the biggest geographical hindrance I know of in major sports. Aside from the universal struggles pitchers have at coors, it almost always seems to effect them on the road as well. You can try to be positive about it, but when balls are flying further than they should, and curve balls don't break properly, it has to screw with your confidence. The home/road splits are rarely as good as you would expect them to be, they often suck universally.
They really need to reconfigure the dimensions as well. It’s not just balls traveling further. The “overcompensation” they did to try and limit HR (with massive fence distances/gaps) turn outs into singles, singles into doubles, etc. Shorten the dimensions, raise the walls, and crank up the humidor to 11.
Tal's Hill has hit hard times. Saw it drunk in a street alley last week. Everyone deserves a second chance, but if you put it out there in center - Coors field, to fix the problem, it's like putting humans and dinosaurs together and expecting everything to go well. Cannot be done.
Set the tone early in first inning, 10 runs. Just noticed that there is no game for us on the 4th of July. How unamerican! These schedule making computers need a talking to.
Epic fail on MLB for failing to schedule every team on the Fourth of July. We usually have the Astros game on while cooking the burgers and hot dogs. Really unbelievable, and first time to my recollection.
TFW you look at a series, and you say to yourself, "I'm kind of glad Verlander's not pitching." Oof, it hurts to even write.
