I'd much rather have degrom then Cole and that's disrespect to Cole but what Degrom did last year was incredible.

It was a noble effort. I counted 3 times before I posted my reply. :)

Hmm.. Hendricks resigns with Cubs. He was still under arbitration through the 2020 season, but it's probably not a great sign for Keuchel.

Hendricks is only 28. He had a good season last year with a 14-11 record, 3.44 ERA, 199 IP, and a 1.146 WHIP.

    His contract breaksdown like this:

2019 7 million (settlement before arbitration)
2020 12 million (would have been final year of arbitration)
    2021 14 million
    2022 14 million
    2023 14 million
    2024 16 million (team option)

So Hendricks had a top 3 cy young finish in 2016 and pitched really well last year as well and only turned that into 14 million for his free agent years?

The only signs Keuchel has had all off-season are not great ones.

"Opening day. All you have to do is say the words and you feel the shutters thrown wide, the room air out, the light pour in. In baseball, no other day is so pure with possibility. No scores yet, no losses, no blame or disappointment. No hangover, at least until the game's over."
