^^^Nope. Rumors tonight he could choose the Phillies. "Why is Cliff Lee taking so long? There is belief he is headed for Phillies." "At thsi moment, #Yankees have become extremely negative about landing Lee and believing that he is edging toward #Phillies"
Yeah. If it does end up happening that way(Lee to PHI), as you said earlier, HOLY $%#%, heh. Halladay Lee Oswalt Hamels or something of that variation
Ken_RosenthaI It's (almost) official: Lee has reached a tentative agreement with the #Phillies, he is waiting to see if the #Rangers will offer 8yrs.
mlbtraderumors That was from a fake Ken Rosenthal account. We'll keep you posted if and when there is actual news on the Cliff Lee front.
WTF? Just hear Yanks out of C.Lee sweepstakes. Then I just saw Phillies sign Lee http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/...tml?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
Must suck for Halladay. He's the same age as Lee, and Philly gave him a 3-yr deal last year and Lee gets a 6 or 7 year deal (presumably) from the same team just a year later.
Is 120 wins out of the question for the Phillies? Cole Hamels is a #1 on many teams and he's #4 on this one. Roy Oswalt a #3? As long as it's the good Brad Lidge, I don't see how any one in the NL can come close to this.
Word is that it's a 5yr/100 mil deal, what a steal and props to Lee, hopefully this helps Roy get a ring. They won't even need a bullpen with Halladay and Lee
Kendrick is a very strong #5 as well. If they stay healthy I think they can break the Mariners record of 117 wins.
Injuries could happen, like how the Astros lost Pettite in 2004. Also, wouldn't suprise me if Oswalt has a down (average) year... which would still be better than most #3's out there, but it won't be ace-like. But Lee-Halladay duo alone can get them close to 100 wins, and a World Series title.
