Such BS. I hope we somehow manage to win it all this year to shut everyone up. Some would’ve thought Skaggs overdosing with the possibility of some of the Angels org. knowing of his excessive opioid usage previous to his OD and did nothing would’ve been a much bigger issue and more newsworthy than sign stealing. Maybe I’m not caught up all the way with that story. Not sure if that rumor was verified or not.
The investigation into Skaggs’ death showed that an Angels’ employee regularly supplied him with drugs.
Best case scenario is that this whole fiasco has brought the team even closer together and served as the ultimate kind of motivation for 2020. Just from Bregman and Altuve I’m already getting the vibe that they’re pissed and ready to get going here in a few weeks.
I think the best way for the team to put this behind them is to go out and win tons of games. I mean just destroy the opponents. Have a chip on their shoulder and prove that they didn't need to steal signs in the first place to win. Just be a juggernaut and silence the critics. Conversely, this whole scandal will continue to haunt them if they start out slow, let the scandal impact their performance and have a poor year with multiple losses. This will just undermine their position that they are a great team without needing to steal signs... I'm hoping for the former to shut everyone up!
