9 wins in row vs. 2 teams that made the playoffs in 2018 and a team that had the best start and best offense to start 2019.
The Mariners might be competition for us this year but this series definitely put them in their place. They can still enjoy their lead for now but they know who the best team in the division and probably all of baseball is.
Sure he matters He has been a big piece of any discussion when it comes to roster change in the last 2 years, whether by addition or trade .
It’s been given that appearance by people who have been dissatisfied with his last opportunity. I don’t think the organization is closing the window. I am torn, kinda wish they would trade him. I like the power of Yordan, he looks like a stud in the making. I am by no means giving up on Tucker
Thirty-Nine K's by Astros pitching this series. Wish we could mix-in more GIDPs for decreased workload, but great job overall, no doubt.
This post is 99.9% jest, but can can we start giving Straw reps at C instead of SS? I like Stassi (and don't think we really need to upgrade), but he's clearly the weakest link on the team. A backup C isn't a dire need, but that sure would be nice. I wonder if Stubbs gets the call at any point this year? All in all, Astros look hungry again despite other threads in the forum. Love the day off, give them a chance to regroup. 2 game series at OAK (screw GSW) and wrap up the week in grimy Arlington, Oklahoma. The Marwin MMP send-off next weekend should be cool. Shaping up to be a beautiful season.
It’s crazy early to be wanting things and counting guys out, but as of right now, these are my thoughts... I’d like one more frontline type starter, another trusted reliever for the 7th inning, a different backup catcher and Alvarez at DH. I’d trade Tucker for the right starter. Still, that’s a perfect world type of scenariofor me.
