Postponed means game won't be played today. They will play it some other day this year. No game today. Astros heading back to Houston.
we agree on something? I may have to screen shot this. you looking forward to harden's first choke job tonight? jkjk
Yeah just heard on 790. Now we can talk Road McCullers without interruption. Lol Radar didn't much long-term rain, but being a travel day too postponed it.
Too bad Oaklands stadium is a dump with no roof (I know most stadiums don't have roofs) but still the Oakland Coliseum is a dump.
Better! Thanks for checking in. I'm almost back to running again. My knee is around 80% of where I was pre-injury. Still rehabbing. Hoping to run again by May. As a side-note, for people wanting us to bean OAK to send a message... First, I'm all for protecting our players and sending messages when one needs to be sent. But that's not the case here. First, there's no malicious intent. Just look at the circumstances. Second, if you bean OAK, they're literally just going to bean us right back. We'd be back at square 1, where an important player is potentially out for a significant period of time. That is a shitty investment. (And, FWIW, OAK would completely be in the right to bean us right back). Second, as another poster mentioned, this team plays their ass off for Hinch. He's not in any sort of position where he needs to gain respect from any player. I'd rather have a calm, calculated manager than someone who's an emotional show. Look at successful managers. Does Bochy lose his mind every time *anything* happens? Maddon? No. Hinch has his faults, but not beaning OAK after this incident is not one of them. Should we send a message when one needs to be sent? Absolutely. But that's point blank not the case here. There is a way to prevent teams from pitching inside. Shocking development for some of you, but it's not always by beaning the other team. It's done by hitting those f'ing inside pitches! Are we just going to bean every team, every time they pitch to a player's weakpoint? That's silly. If you bean a team every time they pitch to their game plan, our starting lineup will eventually include Jon Singleton and the rest of our minor leaguers due to the DL stints of our MLB players. Sometimes being the bigger man has it's benefits, even if they're hard to see at the time.
Bochy and Madden do lose their mind when it's called for, strike one! Tell Correa he should have hit that pitch yesterday, strike two, "Being the bigger man" by sitting idly by while your team gets pummeled and umps are consistently calling in opponents favor doesn't make you the bigger man, strike three! Hinch is not an in your face manager everyone knows that and I'm sure his players like and respect him but that doesn't mean the umps or the opponents do or will.
our guys or A's guys? that would be funny seeing altuve, carlos, alex and springer dinger hanging out with curry after a win.
So, umpires respect guys who argue calls that won't be changed , unnecessarily delay the game and show them (umpires) up? Got it...
You will never be able to illustrate an example of where the umps or opponents "dis-respect" or are "in fear" of an opposing team's manager. And to build on that, even if there is a judgement call about the other team's manager... you will never be a able to illustrate an example of how it impacts the opponent's level of play one way or the other. This is one of the most childish arguments on CF to date...
Childish is not understanding that it's not the other players that "fear", its the manager/staff of that team knowing there are no reprecussions.
Nope...makes no sense to me. You are saying that if Hinch had run out on to the field, screaming and gesticulating wildly, gotten in the umpires face, completely showed the umpire up for a call that could not be changed, that the umpire would respect him more?
It's not just that said call Bobrek it's future calls. That foul tip bs call was so egregious and yet it looked like Hinch really didn't want to bother the ump with his disagreement.
