you'd think valbuena just hit a home run in a world series game. Starting to not like him. he's been getting very carlos gomezy
I'm surprised he doesn't stir up more drama with his bat flipping antics. I guess everyone tolerates it Looks like Altuve's slump is going to be accompanying him on the road
Did a terrible job of attacking the ball also. A half decent defender in LF and that run don’t score Don’t understand why he is getting such a long leash
So much for the road offense returning. Andrew Koufax out there is making us look like fools. Lance pitched a good game too.
Seems like our guys are hitting into a massive number of momentum-killing double plays lately. Not trivial ones, but ones where they're already struggling to get men on base, they really need runs, it's getting later in the game, and they finally have a guy on first with no outs. https://www.teamrankings.com/mlb/stat/grounded-into-double-plays-per-game ^ According to this, they're 19th in the majors in terms of hitting into double plays (fewer double plays puts you closer to the top.) Only one other division leader is worse (Milwaukee at 25th place). But ALL other division leaders are in the top 10. It's not the only problem, obviously, but it's definitely there.
FWIW, last year, Houston was #25 in that ranking. It's a sort of double-edged sword - being high in the rankings can also be a sign you're getting lots of baserunners on and putting a lot of balls in play, so you have more opportunities to ground into double plays.
that went about as poorly as it could have Goddamnit another 1-2 loss against a contender. This **** is getting so old. Another lousy night for Houston sports.
Their late-game magic from last year has not repeated itself so far. Nothing you can really do about it, hopefully it changes back later this year.
