For a defensively challenged OFer who can't hit and has a noodle arm, he is a very good athlete. He also makes a good air conditioner.
Sadly, I don't know if they can (or will or even want to) just jettison him. If you're going to have a pure DH on the roster, White/Davis would be better choices, but Ground Control couldn't exactly calculate that last winter.
Blisters on his hands? Strained left batting eye? What the ****, Lance? That looked intentional but I'm sure it wasn't. His control sucks today, I believe "effectively wild" would be a good descriptor.
It is always odd to me that the Astros cannot find a good DH and the Texans cannot find a good return man.
How about a pulled pork loin? Lance is always good for one of these games, I'd say once every 3 or 4 starts
Seems like a lot of gift strikes to wild pitchers against the world champs. It would be nice to get a bit of strike zone respect especially for guys like Springer Altuve Correa
He is good with the one liners without being overly cliche or corny. Not easy to do on a day in day out basis
The White Sox look like a poorly managed team. Looks like they might have talent but it’s hard to tell. Reminiscent of the Stros Bo Porter days
Altuve has only 15 ABs with RISP this year, hitting 2nd and 3rd. If that doesn't describe the team's early offensive struggles, I don't know what better stat would. eta: 9-15 now
They're very young and rebuilding and talent-challenged, except for a few vets. More forgettable Astros manager: Brad Mills or Bo Porter? I've always liked Steve Stone, and I typically try to listen to the opposing team's feed for the first game at least of a series, just to hear what the other guys have to say about the Stros, but HH makes them a no-go for me. Rangers level. The Seattle guys are really good.
