There was a lot of hype with John Wall, being that he was a number one pick but he seems to have regressed a bit. It could be partially due to playing on a poor team but then how you do explain Kyrie Irving?

To me, right now, it seems like Wall is a taller Kemba Walker. Walker was actually underrated coming out of college but has since shown he has the talent.

I still believe Lin has the potential to be a 20ppg scorer. His efficiency during Linsanity and during some stretches this year have shown what he can do. The problem is he has a pass first, pass second, score third mentality. He plays within the system and defers the scoring to his teammates.

Lin has the same problem Billups did early in his career: balancing scoring and distributing. Read a very good ESPN article on Billups' career below:

I don't know how to edit my post, just want to add:

Young Billups had the exact same problem Lin has now. :)

Question for the LOFs: Why is it that he has one good game then has 3 to 5 bad games, then one good game.... ??? ..

Obviously Mchale hates Lin. He'll bench him just so Harden can take more shots & pad his stats. It's all part of a grand scheme by Morey to make Harden look that much more like a superstar, that way more superstars will want to sign here. I mean you can't debate the fact that we probably would have won a title last year, If only we had cut Lowry instead of Lin.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Now that that's out of the way. I'm a strong Jeremy Lin supporter but if you LOFs honestly think that the Cavs would be better with Lin instead of Irving you are absolutely crazy & your bias is showing. If the Cavs offered to trade Irving for Lin, Morey would take that deal in half of a heart beat. Lin is a really good player & i'm excited to see where his career is headed, but this became James Harden's team the day we traded for him.

Because when Lin has a good game (Like OKC) McHale makes a comment like "He'd rather have 29 pts.....". Basically it pisses McHale off when he has a good game and he takes it out on Lin.

It's all about pride. Morey was man enough to admit he made a mistake by letting Lin go. McHale will never admit he made a mistake and is still trying to prove it.

Lin will be an all-star, just never when he is under the current system. He will be an all-star maybe after he is traded to a team that will actually utilize his true game.

Morey would be a fool to do that. You really think Irving and Harden could co-exist? Lin is actually the perfect PG to complement Harden. Good for the Rockets probably not so good for Jeremy's career.

really? McHale cares more about personal vendetta than actually winning and keeping his job? And you know this bc you converse regularly with McHale at dinner right? Lin is playing 30+ minutes a night and has 1 game with less than 20 minutes all year. Stop blaming Lin's inconsistency on other people. The guy is young. Hes learning to play off the ball. It took guys like Jordan, LeBron and even the omnipotent Ojajuwon years to learn how to play in a team construct. Lin is in his second year and he already has all this figured out, but the coach his holding him back, right?

As far as Lin being an all star, but not being utilized correctly...his numbers are right in line with last year.

This is moronic. Your statements are not based in logic or reality. I cannot believe real, living, breathing human beings think trading Lin for Kyrie Irving is foolish.

Oh he's smart enough to play Lin JUST enough so the Rockets win and he keeps his job. He's not smart enough to fully utilize him however which hurts Lin, the team and will eventually cause him to lose his job.

McHale never admits in interviews that he was wrong - only the players. This is due to his arrogance and pride. Pride is one of the seven deadly sins and McHale has it in spades.

The current system doesn't require a point guard to shoot a lot and make a lot of assists. McHale wants distributed scoring (to all perimeter shooters) and assists except for Harden.

Lin will not reach the PTS, AST and REB numbers that would justify his all-star status because he is not allowed, let alone encouraged to.

I can't believe that a basketball fan doesn't understand team chemistry. Much more important than stats - see Lakers.

Of course Morey would trade Lin for Irving in a heartbeat.

I do wonder who would play defense in an Irving/Harden backcourt. Maybe it wouldn't matter, because they'd out score opponents by 50 every night.
