Dirk just lost $20m. I doubt Cuban is giving him a front office job for $20m.

Simply put he gave up a lot of money for no reason. If Mavs were contending, okay. But otherwise, Cuban should have just agreed to the one-year $25m as a farewell tour Kobe deal.

Lulz. Also known as a "team option". We all know theyre best buds but I wouldnt sign any contract without a players option.

Dirk is beyond wealthy and taken care of. He will work management with the Mavs after. There was a period of time for two years(rockets with artest) where I sat courtside directly behind the Mavs bench frequently, as I was closely related to the Mavs top local sponsor(no longer sponsor as bank was bought out from a group in Spain).

I got to witness the relationship Dirk and Mark had for years and attended several player events. Those two have the most unique relationship in the league. Dirks pay cut now will be remembered as long as Mark is alive.

Dirk and Jason Terry are the nicest guys in the league.

I will never forget walking in to Donnies office and looking up at the white board where they had players rated numerically.

    1.Kobe Bryant
    2.Lebron James....

It was a really cool few years in Dallas.
