Wonder how much this kind of news affects in the pursue of free agents, especially considering we still have the same owner that did it.
This! I can't stand Barkley's hating on Houston, but Tinman is absolutely correct; the $1 mil/ 1 yr deal showed Barkley was about winning instead of $. I can understand how he'd be upset if there was an understanding, and we didn't take care of him on the back end. I'm not justifying quitting on your team by eating yourself out of competition.
Knew that we shorted him on the cash but didn't know about the fat thing till now. I think he's held that grudge cause he's still fat and continues to blame it on us.
Are you kidding me? Why would Barkley make this up? Why has he been bitter? This is 100% a typical move under Le$ Alexander, remember when he offered Dream so little? Essentially forcing him to Toronto? Nope, well I do. I 100% believe Barkley - and it explains everything. I know Les is cheap, do you? DD
Les offered Dream a 3 year $13 million extension! I LOVE Hakeem, but that was a fair contract at the end of his career IMO. Dream retired the next season and Rockets sucked so bad we got Yao. Remember when Lakers paid Kobe just to show their appreciation? How is that working out for them? Duncan, Dirk took paycuts. Real question: How much was Hakeem asking for? Was there another backdoor deal not honored? Hakeem is still close with the organization and Les so how is this an issue? "I 100% believe Barkley" is not a sentence I'm accustomed to.
Dream was done he did the Rockets a favor by going to the Raptors. He didn't even make it to the all star break before he got hurt and retired.
Dream should have never gone to another team. Whatever he wanted Les should have paid. you're right the Rockets sucked, so if you paid him everything he wanted and he lasted less than one year, that means he retires a Rocket and played for no other organization.
Les treated him "great" while he was in Houston, according to Barkley. So who exactly screwed him over?
Wait, what - - you're questioning The Chuckster? (Perhaps the 4 mil was 1 for the digit he stretched o-u-t on his uni???)
