My memory is hazy, but Power Rangers don't have superhuman qualities right? They're just suppose to be teenagers trained in martial arts who has fancy space weapons and can control giant robots? Where is Zordon and Alpha 5?
They're not supposed to have any powers in their normal human form. I wonder how they'll explain the PW colors in this one (i.e. black breh as the black ranger, azn brehette as the yellow ranger, Tommy as white)
When they are in their spandex then have super powers like being able to jump into their zords. They have have a Mexican playing an Asian girl, an Asian playing a black guy, a black guy playing a nerdy white guy, an Indian playing a white girl. They left the Red Ranger alone. They also have their diversity covered.
The trailer only showed up until the first morph, so I'm sure all that other stuff will be introduced...
Power Rangers have had civilian powers since season 9 in the early 2000s. Recent seasons have scraped that Idea though. They started creating civilian powers in season 9 so it isn't unprecedented. It's become less and less about these kids learning martial arts like the first few seasons. There have been some seasons that were about Martial Arts, but recent seasons don't have these guys practicing it. Zordan is being played by Bryan Cranston who, Fun Fact: played a voice role of a villain in the original Power Rangers. Alpha 5 will be voiced by Bill Hader
I'm too old to know anything about power rangers except that my 4 and 6 year old are hyped about it, haha
It seems like I've watched this film, before, like a Garfield-Spiderman movie/Chronicle/FF4 (2015). It's a step up for Power Rangers, yet I'm not inclined to go see it opening weekend.
Has anyone ever heard of the Power Rangers curse? At least the original series one? http://emgn.com/entertainment/14-deaths-suggest-theres-power-rangers-curse/
1995 Mighty Morphin power rangers was one of my favorite movies as a kid. Don't think my kids 4-13 yr like power rangers so I'll stream this one.
