No Tmac, no Artest, no Ariza, no Yao..the Rockets are boring once again

this current team ...I would barely even really want to call them.."the Houston Rockets"...I can't help but recognize and realize that this current team is just a whole lotta bunch of role players (whom I love, btw) that really doesn't have that special spark...or "x-factor" if you will... its just a bunch of specialised fundamentalists that resembles nothing like the glorious Rockets of old...and the way the Rockets should be..

With the awesome T-Mac, we had one of the biggest superstars in the whole league. He was our icon, he was our savior. Each and every important game we looked up to him to step up and carry us to the promised land. He was the Kobe Bryant or the LeBron James of the Central part of the continent. Kobe dominated the West Coast and LeBron domianted the East Coast and Tracy dominated the all the lands in between).

Every time we played the big boys, the so called "glamor teams" of the league, (but actually more pretenders than contenders), we knew Tracy was gonna step up. No matter who was the cast surrounding and "supporting" him, Tracy McGrady made sure he delivered. And as fans we all had this special vision of him as THE "Houston Rocket" of all Houston Rockets. His starpower and aura was immense and immeasurable. No matter as fans or players, T-Mac, was the driving force behind everything that we stood for.

T-Mac's dunks, forays into the lane, smooth jumpers(one cannot express in words justifiably how smooth T-Mac's game was!!!), and brilliant passes, was the heartbeat of the team.

And the man himself was the essence of the Houston Rockets.

    *********************************************

And then we come to the flare and glare that were the great players such as Ron Artest and Trevor Ariza. Those players were the backbone of our team. Toughness cannot be spelt or felt around the team without Ron Ron and Trevor. Those guys were special, they played incredible, tough, celebral defense while on offense they shined through too. Who cares about this so-called..."uber-intelligent defending" that has been advertised through and through and plastered all over Shane Battier's face with extreme (stupid) hype...and no results!!! "so we gonna be standing at 43.13 degrees to the offensive player to ensure we can cut off his baseline movements by 4.12 seconds because my help who is 3.53 meteres behind me can arrive within 4.15 seconds to ensure a successful contest of the layup?' rubbish!!! Trevor and Ron Ron did not need to adhere to that ****. They either just stole the ball in Ariza's case before the offensive player could even receive the pass, mid-air, or Ron Ron's probably muscled the offensive player into the corner behind he could even take a step with the ball. Or, more likely, the offensive player, gazing into the defensive monster that is known as Ron Artest in front of him...already had just given up hope of scoring while hes being guarded by Ron and just don't even bother trying any moves on Ron Ron.

    ********************************************

Ah, Yao Ming. He's being restricted to 24 mins a game. Now he is not even a focal part of the offense anymore...(!!!!!!!). Adelman obviously decided the best Center in the league wasn't qualified enough to receive touches on the team and just gonna mold him into a Shaun Bradley. Oh well...good luck with having to reason.."why the hell do i need to defer to aaron brooks when im the best center in the league!!!!!!"

    *********************************************

Tracy, Yao, Ron and Trevor was what the Houston Rockets were all about and stood for. Now that they've all gone into the abyss, the team is just nothing as brilliant as the Rockets of old anymore.
They aren't as passionate, aren't as talented, aren't as co-ordinated. The team that had those guys on the team were SO much more fierce, so courageous, SO much more hopeful, and so much more exciting. Each of those individuals brought something to the team that only they could bring, whether its T-Mac's thunderous dunks or the old Yao's total domination of the league, we'll never be able to find the same from anywhere else again.

    You all will be missed.

r****ded is a word I am trying not to use in my post as much. I understand it is not politically correct. Of course I am not referring to any truly special people out there who god made mentally challenged. They are far more intelligent than I in the sense they get more out of less. But I am referring to people who have all their capacities yet seem to use on a lesser level than those that are truly mentally challenged.

Still I understand when I say r****ded some people think I am insulting those beautiful special people that do so much with so little. Of course that is not my attention... let me be clear. To insult them is the last thing on my mind. In my day calling someone r****ded or r****do was much like calling someone an idiot. In someways it is a lesser word to me than idiot. So let me explain again for anyone who may be offended by my use of the word r****ded. Please understand I am not referring to any beautiful special people who were with a mental handicap. God bless them they are the salt of the earth and I think of them as truly special.

    As for W22streak you are...

    r****ded

Unfortunately, I kind of feel the same way. When one of those guys went in, you would get really excited, but the one who I think did it for me was Landry. Once he left, the Rockets weren't the same. Bring him back!!! :(

Your thread fails because AB and Kevin Martin are both > Ariza.

Thats debatable on some levels. but I didn't say the level of their skill or play or whatever. I was totally referring to the energy and the buzz they brought to the team that ab and kevin martin cannot ever replace.

Enjoy the birth of star players like Kevin Martin and Aaron Brooks to go along with the rebirth of Yao and his bionic foot.

This team will be better than any of the ones you pine for....

why? did I ever mention I was a T-Mac only fan? I am a Houston Rockets fan first and foremost and I will never ever stop supporting this team and this franchise.

But does giving out a negative opinion of the team disqualify u as a true passionate fan?

It seems in some people's world that the only things that a true fan things is:"whoa our team is so awesome!!! whoa our bench is so starter-quality!!"

homers seem to be the best fans on this board.

i might as well start to devote my life to promote how awesome of a hardworker and sportsman chuck hayes is and has been. then I'd be hailed as a legend for rooting my hardest for a 6'6 disadvantaged center.
