    I think it's the opposite. It shows how powerful Nike is.

    You say one slightly negative thing about them and they give you an earfull. And considering the amount of ad money Nike pumps into basketball and everything that surrounds it, they probably don't just talk.

    They carry a BIG stick.

    If Nike had power, you would never have read that quote from Barkley about how he got a call from them. Instead, Barkley would be compensating his failure with overwhelming praise.

    The reality is, Nike looks like a blowhard.

    They probably didn't think Barkley would tell anybody. Barkley used to be a part of Nike lol.

    Barkley was on Oprah when she interviewed Phil knight and charles was one of the athletes who thanked him personally for what Nike has done for them...kind of ironic....Nike would have stood up for Barkley the same way.

    Remember the video where Lebron got dunked on by Jordan Crawford and it got confiscated? Remember when he held that hour long special on tv to announce he was taking his talents to South Beach? Remember when he made that stupid slideshow so people would help fund his birthday party? Or how about the Yankees hat at Progressive Field? Truth is, Lebron is a punk and Barkley is justifiable in his opinion.
    As far as talent, Kobe is the kind of the league. Ratings for the finals are going to be stellar because the Lakers and Kobe are out of it.
