Another piece in the Russia-Trump opera has come to light. As before, this does not incriminate anyone, but this is a story that continues to unravel.

This may explain the "media is the enemy" tweet.
    Maybe, Maybe No.

Where does this end for President Trump? President Pence? Everlasting peace with the Russia?

President Trump on his way to Charleston, S.C., on Friday. Although he has expressed hope that the United States and Russia can work together, it is unclear if the White House will take a privately submitted peace proposal for Ukraine seriously Al Drago/The New York Times
A week before Michael T. Flynn resigned as national security adviser, a sealed proposal was hand-delivered to his office, outlining a way for President Trump to lift sanctions against Russia.

Mr. Flynn is gone, having been caught lying about his own discussion of sanctions with the Russian ambassador. But the proposal, a peace plan for Ukraine and Russia, remains, along with those pushing it: Michael D. Cohen, the president’s personal lawyer, who delivered the document; Felix H. Sater, a business associate who helped Mr. Trump scout deals in Russia; and a Ukrainian lawmaker trying to rise in a political opposition movement shaped in part by Mr. Trump’s former campaign manager Paul D. Manafort.

At a time when Mr. Trump’s ties to Russia, and the people connected to him, are under heightened scrutiny — with investigations by American intelligence agencies, the F.B.I. and Congress — some of his associates remain willing and eager to wade into Russia-related efforts behind the scenes.

Mr. Trump has confounded Democrats and Republicans alike with his repeated praise for the Russian president, Vladimir V. Putin, and his desire to forge an American-Russian alliance. While there is nothing illegal about such unofficial efforts, a proposal that seems to tip toward Russian interests may set off alarms.

Raw Story (liberal bias) has summarized the story as follows:

Trump White House has secret plan to end Russian sanctions by blackmailing Ukraine president: report
    David Edwards
Associates of President Donald Trump have crafted a plan to lift sanctions that were placed on Russia following President Vladimir Putin’s aggression against Ukraine.

According to The New York Times, Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen, hand-delivered the “peace plan” to the White House, which was being pushed by former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and former Trump campaign manager Paul D. Manafort. Trump business associate Felix H. Sater and Andrii V. Artemenko, a Ukrainian lawmaker, were said to have helped craft the deal.

“A lot of people will call me a Russian agent, a U.S. agent, a C.I.A. agent,” Artemenko told the Times. “But how can you find a good solution between our countries if we do not talk?”

The plan reportedly includes compromising “names of companies, wire transfers” that would lead to the ousting of Ukraine President Petro O. Poroshenko.

It was not immediately clear if Trump was aware of the plan, but Cohen told the Times that he had not discussed it with the president.

I feel like every story involving Trump and Russia should always have it noted that Russia oil and Exxon have over 500 billion tied up in sanctions that need be removed in order to execute that deal. I know that has nothing to do with this deal that mostly involves Trumps contacts in the real estate world like Sater but at some point this plot point is going to come in play and should always be a footnote.

What this particular plot point means to me though is more lies that Trump Doesn't deal with Russia or know anyone from Russia like he says over and over as if we are all idiots. The more he lies about it the more guilty he looks that he is a Manchurian candidate.

The truth has a way of getting out and the longer he waits to come clean the more questions will come up. Best case scenario for him is a massive clean up job by the FBI and the folks involved in the investigation to make a great case for massive circumstantial evidence in colluding with a hostile enemy of the United States.

    WTF is a rawstory?

You know this is bullsh!t, right?

It was not immediately clear if Trump was aware of the plan, but Cohen told the Times that he had not discussed it with the president.

If this story is true, even if Trump was not briefed on or had any direct knowledge, having Trump people even suggesting such a thing is disconcerting at the very least. And I suspect confusing to other countries at the very least, and allows some countries to do things that run counter to what is in our best interests. In any event, hopefully congress looks into this.

Is it "bullsh$%"?... umm... not entirely.... seems like there is a story here with Cohen having conflicting responses to the media about it which brings up more questions that need to be answered before we label it as "BS" or as something of substance that needs to be fully investigated.

Also its interesting that Cohen here is strategically saying that he delivered to Flynn but not specifically mentioning Trump. Of course Trump knew about this if it was delivered to Flynn, but trying to exonerate Trump in the process by penning everything on Flynn and making him look like he went rogue.

So for the Trump supporters, what will they want to see come out of the Russia investigations, well they will want to see the FBI & intelligence reports paint a picture of Flynn "Going Rogue" and acting on his own... which we all know its highly unlikely to have actually happened, but its entirely possible that Flynn and co. did cover their tracks enough to exonerate Trump on this and other Russian connections throughout the campaign.

Thats why the FBI and the GOP fought like hell to avoid an investigation because they know that either way this will not end up well for the country. If Trumps' campaign covered their tracks well enough to not implicate Trump in any collusion with Russia but there remains all this circumstantial evidence, its going to cause outrage and conspiracy theory about the govt covering up scandal. If they implicate Trump, they it creates chaos with the House being forced into potentially Impeaching Trump. Best case scenario for Trump would be that they put everything on the table (including tax returns) and it turns out all connections & communications were truly benign.... which then paints Trump as incredibly stupid for with holding information and not being transparent for no reason whatsoever when it led to this massive investigation for no reason.

Either way we all lose with this President who only has himself to blame even though he blames everyone else all the time for everything, and turning 40% of American into a bunch of "mini-Trumps".

Is this another article to add to the "Nothing to see here, folks!" file?

The proposal is real. The meeting between Trump/WH lawyer and Sater was real. The only thing that is in question is was the proposal delivered to the WH.

Lot of smoke. Way too many pro-Russian links.

Trump really need to release his taxes.

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...-peace-plan-said-was-only-trying-to-help.html

In an exclusive Fox News interview, Felix Sater strongly denies any wrong doing by trying to push the plan, and says that he was never a connection between the Trump campaign and Moscow.

"What could be wrong in helping stop a war and trying to achieve peace? I have done so much for my country and thought that promoting peace was a good thing,” he told Fox News. “People are getting killed, it's a war."

Sater is a long time New York real estate developer who had worked for years with the Trump organization and the now-president on various real estate projects.
