On Monday's edition of ESPN's NBA 2 Night show, there show had a breif conversation on Yao's breakthrough preformance against the Lakers. That's when the unthinkable finally happened !!!!!! Fred "Mad Dog" Carter, one fo there NBA super analysts who works for ESPN, said something good about Yao!!!! He said he predicts Yao will become a force on this team this season, not 2 seasons from now. He said that Yao did looked lost in his first 6 games because everything was happening too fast for him. Now the game is getting lower for him. He said Yao is beginning to finaly getting comfortable playing in the NBA and it has shown in his last 2 games. He is more active and aggresive in the paint now than his first 6 games, and he has made 14 out of his last 15 shots counting the Phoenix game. He also said his teammates are getting more confident in Yao and so now they look for him when they are trying to make something out of nothing. He said to look for Yao to be a key contributor on this team late in the season and to look for the Rocks to be a strong contender this season. He said this team is dangerous and should make it to at least the 4 spot in the playoff bracket. He also predicted all of Yao's naysayers will be shut up when Yao wins the Rookie of the Year award. But wait there's more. Now David Aldridge has joined the bandwagon. this is a breif exert from a story he wrote about Francis's determination and how it will lead the Rocks to the playoffs. And yes he actually started the article like he has written below, no b.s. I'm a moron. A few weeks ago, I was co-hosting PTI with Tony Kornheiser (or Wilbon, I can't remember), and there was an item about how enthusiastic the Rockets' owner, Leslie Alexander, was about his team. He called it "the greatest team ever assembled," or words to that effect. And being on PTI, I figured I should have something sassy to say about that comment. Of course, I forgot that a) I'm not especially funny, and b) that's not my style. So I go on TV and proceed to say some really silly things about Mr. Alexander, who has never done me any harm. And for that, I apologize to him and his family. All I really know about the man is that he has built a first-rate organization, with solid people up and down in management and on the coaching staff. Tomjanovich continues to be one of the best tacticians and straight-shooters around, and Dawson is as decent a human being as you can know. Their personnel folks and their advance scouts and their trainer are all first-rate people. And the Rockets do have a young quartet of Francis, Mobley, Eddie Griffin and Yao that might soon be the nucleus of the next real challenger in the West. Unless Tim Duncan convinces Jason Kidd to join him in San Antonio next season. The point is, I forgot one of my cardinal rules, which is you can be critical without getting personal. What I said was stupid and mean-spirited. There are plenty of other people who do that in my business. I'll try real hard in the future not to emulate them again. David Aldridge, who covers the NBA for ESPN, is a regular contributor to ESPN.com. Now we know why ESPN always refers to him as " tha D.A." Cuz he is a Dumb A$s !!!!!!! Anywayz we finally got some love from ESPN
I forgot one more person with love for Yao. Add Micheal Wilbon from PTI to that list. He said last night on PTI that there will be a long line of naysayers kissing Yao's as$ when the season is over and he has that Rookie of the Year award trophy in hand.
Quadruple post, that has to be a record. Good luck trying to fix whatever the problem is. Maybe just close out the program for a few minutes.
Sorry... I kept clicking the wrong button...I was just too excited when I found out someone on ESPN became a believer...
That aldridge article has been posted like 4 times already. There's still a locked thread showing up on the first page.
