Newest media narrative? Rockets fans are the most annoying

    I've heard this on Sirius-XM's NBA Radio channel and have seen it on Twitter several times this week. It usually comes up on TV sports shows in a more subtle way, like saying "Harden scored 304 unassisted points, as Rockets fans will repeatedly remind you."

    Supposedly, Rockets fans are losing their **** over Harden's upcoming MVP snub and have become absolute pests, calling into talk shows and tweeting up a storm about all the great things Harden has done this year, and they're doing it to a degree no fan base has ever done before.

    That's right, folks, some sports media folks apparently think Rockets fans are also having a record year.

    I'd hate to see this become a thing, but I'm afraid it's already begun.

    Gotta win that chip. They can hate all they want, but it's time to make them respect.

    they’re the ones who caused this by continuously telling outright lies and spreading misinformation every day about Harden

    they’re so quick to dismiss everything he does or bring up bullsh*t to try and discredit him

    I think Basketmad is leading that charge.

    In all seriousness, it’s just rockets fans pointing out holes in the lazily thrown narratives about Harden, and instead of coming back with facts, they continue with “lol travel no defense flop.”

    It's a very disingenuous take because it overlooks any flawed reasoning on their parts and makes us look like misguided, misinformed homers.

    On today's episode of Open Floor they read an excerpt from an email I submitted. It was definitely insinuated that I was one of many in an increasingly annoying Rockets fan base. Ben Golliver, at least, acknowledged that Harden deserves our devotion.

    p.s. I loved every second of it. I ain't mad at those guys. I love their podcast.

    We're pretty damn good whiners, I must say.

    Seriously though I’m glad we care. It may not show it in the “lower bowl” but we care about the fake news on Harden and the fukked up narrative.

    What my post said is that I've started to hear it a lot, from quite a few different sources. I also said I hope it isn't becoming a thing, but that it sure seems to be.

    This. I mean, come on. Half the GARM threads are crying about a lack of attention or love or spouting anti-Rockets conspiracies. The other half is cheering when morons like Kellerman say something positive about the Rockets.

    i don't really blame the GARM members. the fairies that Williamson emailed also mentioned that rockets fans should not be harping on MVP instead of worrying more about beating the worriers. a most disingenuous statement when the entire f'n world knows there will be absolutely no way that silver allows GS to lose in the 2nd round. the MVP award is the consolation prize and at least something to take away from wilt harden's wasted season
