Thanks (or no thanks) to a law passed by the U.S. Congress two years ago, the new daylight saving time starts three weeks earlier this year, effective 2 AM this Sunday morning.

I actually don't mind changing the clocks, which is only twice a year. Big deal, isn't? Well, it may indeed become a big deal this time. Last I counted, I have in my home 2 clocks and 1 alarm clock that don't have manual adjustment mechanism. These automatic clocks were pre-programmed by the manufacturers who may or may not have taken into consideration the new DST law.

I bought the alarm clock 2 years ago and the 2 other clocks 3 months ago. I am not sure if I can return those devices to the stores that sold them. I don't think I still have the receipts.

Do you have the same problems?

I have a Sunday morning gig and this means I have to get up an hour earlier for it.

I coach my daughters' softball team and it not getting dark until 730 or later is a welcome sight.

those devices without manual adjustment mechanisms probably have autoset capabilities.

I have a couple TVs that get their time from a signal buried in the channel feeds.

ve never really looked into the details involved, but its possible other devices that recieve signals may also do the same.

You are correct, your computer will explode.

I'm glad it is happening earlier this year, light later in the evening is way better then in the morning for me.

while losing an hour of sleep always sucks, the spring switch is definitely good. i've been sleeping fairly normally recently, but when i'm on my usual, going to bed at 6 a.m. schedule, having dawn delayed an hour is nice. and staying light outside later is always nice.

Congress will soon pass a law requiring 25 hours per day.

I didn't know Mr. Wilson played for the other team. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Edit: I just realized the magazine is BAYBOY, not GAYBOY. Damn monitor...

Make that 4 times if you have those automatically switching types. They will do the switch the good old ways and you will have to switch they back.

I'm looking forward to more sunlight after work.

Your clocks that can't be adjusted should pick it up automatically (wireless or through another source)

I didn't know that we were switching so soon until someone mentioned it to me last week. I'm really excited that it will be staying light longer into the night sooner! It's great news, IMO.
