Another cool warrior hero story Queen decorates Nepali for Afghanistan heroics http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20110602/wl_uk_afp/britainmilitaryafghanistannepalaward
Wasn't there a story recently of a Nepali soldier fighting off 30+ robbers on a train in Northern India? Bottom line is don't mess with Nepal!
just read about gurkhas' yesterday, pretty cool stuff. Bravest of the brave apparently. Highly impressive.
So who were the other witness or it's just him retelling his heroic story? Any evidence this is true?
I'm guessing the large number of corpses that had to be buried were considered some sort of circumstantial evidence of a kind by the army.
I don't know how the brits do things, but in the US the highest awards for bravery usually take a couple years to award, due to the investigation that has to be done.
Thats what I wondering. Nepal is on the border of China. Lot of East Indians and Nepali look Asian, lot of Northern ones too. I guess there isn't a firm border where everyone's eyes suddenly change.
Gurkhas have been fighting and dying in the British Army for at least 150 years. This fellow is an outstanding example, but not that unusual in terms of his bravery and ability. He is what the Gurkhas are known for.
I swear the first thing I thought of was that guy that fought off something like 40 people trying to rape some woman. I couldn't remember if he was Nepali, though.
