Nene to re-sign

    There was always a chance Silver would veto the deal, and prove once again that he has a problem with Darnell being the smartest person in da room! What Amy Silver always neglects to see is that Fat Elvis always has a backup plan for a backup plan etc....

    When the smoke clears Zion Williams, Luca Dončič and 2 unprotected #1 picks will be exchanged for Nene's contract! Take dat for data...:cool:

    While I doubt Nene’s injury is bad enough for the Rockets to qualify for a Disabled Player Exception, this is an interesting thought experiment.

    Based on his actual contract, the Rockets should be entitled to a $5 million DPE. I’d be very curious to know if the league would step in AGAIN if it came to assigning a DPE value to Nene’s contract. Sadly(?), I think this is a moot point.

    It was highly unlikely nene was going to play a lot this season given how his contract was structured. This seems like a opportunistic injury for all parties . He will be on the roster till he gets traded but won’t play much
