Interview with ESPN Brazil, you’ll have to translate it but the quote is below. http://www.espn.com.br/nba/artigo/_...-de-se-aposentar-ao-final-da-temporada-da-nba “It’s time to give my full attention to my kids. My time is coming to an end. Everything I did, I did.”
This makes sense. Def explains why nene is playing so much. There not worried about saving him for next round they want him to help the team get thru this round and we’ll take it from there. He must have told MDA something after the Utah series maybe even before the playoffs started and maybe they came to an agreement that nene would go all out against the warriors. Either way I like nene if he wants to retire can’t blame him but he’s been awesome here in houston.
If he is only 36, he should consider playing two more years retiring at 38. But ... man he could be already 52.
Frankly, given the regular season, I figured he was already retired and just had great seats. So happy he has had the chance to bring it in this series. He still has some gas in the tank, and we need it. Love seeing him play.
I translated it and it sounds like he's already made the decision. I remember a couple seasons ago when MDA was asked a question about Nene, Coach said he put Nene in because it was 'man time'. He was definitely a man on the court for the Rockets. I'll miss watching him play He seems like a genuinely good quality guy too. I hope he goes out a champion.
We need more nene this series. Capela being rendered useless by green puts us at an even greater disadvantage than we were already at. Basically gotta rely on every playable player to play better than avg while klay and curry continue to suck for us to win
