https://nba.nbcsports.com/2018/09/14/rockets-couldnt-afford-to-keep-up-with-warriors/ Anthony, 34, looked washed with the Thunder. Though I expect him to bounce back at least somewhat in Houston, I don’t see how he can survive defensively against Golden State. Mbah a Moute was a valuable defender who hit open 3s. If he gets healthy, admittedly a question, he’ll be a big loss. Knight hasn’t played well in years. Chriss has been in over his head his entire NBA career so far. It’s a long way until either can be relied upon deep in the playoffs. At least Anderson – himself too much of a liability against top opponents – would have done more in the regular season to help the Rockets earn home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. The Rockets could have signed all four instead of filling the end of the roster with players like Michael Carter-Williams, another minimum addition this offseason.
I prefer it now when the media hates on us. Last year, we were stupid for thinking Harden and Paul could co-exist. Keep hating media--that which does not kill us, makes us stronger!
I'm just gonna call it like I see it. We lost 2 of our best defenders and added a few scrubs and a wild-card in Melo. We did thankfully sign CP3 (for a lot of money) and Capela (huge). Good news is all these moves were orchestrated by Morey, and he can turn sh*t nuggets into pure gold.
No one really knows what Ennis can bring. No one even knows who is. That's why they aren't mentioning him. Less, IMO. With Luc you knew who he was from his time at UCLA and he has his NBA defensive highlights. I don't think anyone knows who Ennis is. I was only made aware of Ennis when he was guarding Harden and shooting 3's in the Rockets face a season ago.
