NBA TV deal causes ESPN to layoff hundreds

    Here's the primary issue: in a lot of areas Comcast/Xfinity is the only access to high speed internet. Unless you want snail's paced DSL, you'll have to still stick with them for internet. What's stopping those companies from raising internet prices to cover losses of subscriptions? It's a great first step, but it still needs an internet competitor too.

    Only thing ESPN does well is baseball coverage. NFL, NBA, PGA, soccer... all terrible coverage. They're going where they deserve. Down.

    while i don't like espn's nba coverage, the breen/jvg/jackson announcing crew is maybe my favorite ever so for now i don't want the nba to go away from espn. if we could somehow get that announcing crew and the pre-shaq inside the nba studio show...

    Love him or hate him, Bill's (w/ obvious bias) discussion of ESPN is awesome. If you also ever worked inside corporate America, you'll also relate quite a bit on one level or another
