http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/insider/columns/story?columnist=thorpe_david&page=RookieReport-110413 Article by David Thorpe, here are the parts on Patterson: All Rookie Second team Gary Neal, Spurs Ed Davis, Raptors Patrick Patterson, Rockets DeMarcus Cousins, Kings Derrick Favors, Jazz Most Promising Future: 4. Patrick Patterson Because of Kentucky's phenomenal freshman class of 2009-10, people have overlooked what a special player Patterson has been for some time. In 2007, he was the fourth-best big man coming out of high school, behind Michael Beasley, Kevin Love and J.J. Hickson. He willingly played a lesser role on behalf of the team at UK but has shown in Houston why he was so highly rated. When Patterson put his name in the draft in 2010, I considered him an upgraded version of Udonis Haslem, but he's been better than that. I'm impressed with how much his game has grown in just a few months, and Houston fans can recognize some of Luis Scola's signature moves being done by a much taller and quicker Patterson. As it stands now, he'll be a very good sixth man for a talented Houston team, or the Rockets will move him for more assets and he can start somewhere else for years to come.
I think he'll end up starting next season over Luis Scola. As much as I like Luis, I think Morey will help the team by trading him next season.
You can't beat raw young talent like Ppats. The kid can play, and has acclimated to the NBA in a brilliant way. Give him another couple of years and he'll be a solid starter on any NBA team. He is quickly becoming one of our intangibles and could overtake Luis for the starting position. Remember his play when Scola was out for those couple of games? Never seen such a dramatic change in a rookie. Morey better have something similar planned for the 2011 draft  LMB
Patterson has been ordinary in these last several games. The way I see him now I would say he might develop enough to become as good as Hansbrough. He needs to be more consistent with his rebounding.
I'm completely confused by how Cousins is on the second team? His first team must be Fields, Griffin, Wall, Monroe, and.....................who am I missing?
I think the second team could crush the first team. Players like Pat2 and Gary neal have not had the luxury to start for below .500 teams. And if they're putting blake griffin on the first team then I should be allowed to start the young 28 year old chuckwagon on my 2nd rookie team instead of Favors. Hayes will make Blake average. =)
lol at hansbrough comparison that guy sucks <a href="http://tinypic.com?ref=20goco6" target="_blank"><img src="http://i55.tinypic.com/20goco6.gif" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a>
The thing about PPat is that you knew he was going to be a good player. He never had the look of the rookie when he took the court. He always played with confidence and didn't let his rookie mistakes drag him down. Another words, he plays like a veteran. Now, if he works on a post game in the off season and he'll be a complete player.

When they fired him and Hansbrough got more time, he was an absolute animal... the comparison is spot on, but patrick has better jumper.
