Look at Points Per Minute breakdown:

    WADE
    Season____PPM
    2003-04** 0.47
    2004-05** 0.62
    2005-06** 0.71
    2006-07** 0.72
    2007-08** 0.64
    2008-09** 0.78
    2009-10** 0.73
    2010-11** 0.69
    2011-12** 0.67
    2012-13** 0.61
    _____AVG: 0.66

    HARDEN
    Season____PPM
    2009-10** 0.43
    2010-11** 0.46
    2011-12** 0.54
    2012-13** 0.68
    _____AVG: 0.53

Harden had a better PPM average than Wade did last season at 0.68 to 0.61 so we are watching Wade on the decline as Harden is on the rise BUT he has not yet reached Wade's career best average of 0.78. If Harden gets that good, we are winning a championship!

    He deserves it.

It is about time he gets the recognition. He was already the best last year. But the old guards (Kobe, Wade) are just too old and injury prone and Harden was way more efficient than them. Way to go, Beard.

Just to show how dominant Jordan really was:

    - LeBron's best season was Jordan's average.
    - Kobe's only surpassed Jordan's average 1 season in his career.
    - Wade's best season met Jordan's average.

Wish the media would stop trying to compare. It's really disrespectful to Jordan.

Just to show how dominant Jordan really was:

    - CORRECTION: LeBron's best season was still below Jordan's average.
    - Kobe's only surpassed Jordan's average 1 season in his career.
    - Wade's best season met Jordan's average.

Wish the media would stop trying to compare. It's really disrespectful to Jordan.

When you consider handchecking, it's even worse. The league is tailor made for perimeters to dominate.

Look I think that MJ was the greatest ever. A much better defensive player. Nevertheless, Harden has a significantly better lifetime TS% (.603 to .569), if not with quite as a high a volume of shots. (Granted the new handchecking rules have helped Harden.) Harden's offensive stats are nothing to sneeze at.

Best shooting guard AND the best center on our roster...not too shabby, Daryl.

Wouldn't concern myself with ppm or scoring in general with comparing Wade and Harden. The year Wade got that 0.78ppm was the year he led the league is scoring but was on a terrible Heat team, so he had the green light. For Harden if he can more or less keep his 25ppg, then add in 6-7apg while keeping his turnovers under 3 a game then Houston we have a winner!

Anyway, congrats Harden! You are changing basketball in Houston!

Harden is a borderline great offensive player for this era. When comparing him to MJ (or any other player vs the 70s-90s), remember the level of bigs were much better back then. Dwight wouldn't win a single DPOY or rebounding/block title in the 90's. Jordan routinely flew over legit 7 footers after beating handchecks. Pretty amazing. His highlights from the 80's are sick. MJ was like watching the G form of Hakeem. Hakeem was the C version of MJ.

btw- Who knew Bird's career TS% is .564? Era is def a HUGE factor.

When is the last time we have seen either of these guys completely healthy. TBH their "healthy" days are more than likely behind them. It's time we stop judging them based off past exploits and judge them based on what they can do know.

I will say that Wade is arguable.....but can Kobe even play the game at an NBA level right now lol?

thing i'm most excited for this season with James is that this was his first offseason where he has been "the man." He knows he will have to take the last shot, whereas last offseason he was still in OKC and knew that honor would go to KD. James worked his tail off this summer and I fully expect a monster season.

The question is, who are the fourth and fifth best SGs? Which young SGs are up and coming?

DeRozan? Klay Thomson? Is Paul George an SG? Who else?
