It's Harden vs Kahwi at this point. Westbrook leading his team to a 7th seed with inefficient shooting doesn't impress me.
Correct. I was kinda thinking out loud. As a fan I see when it's necessary to lose so you can have a chance to win big later. As a player I'm guessing it's not in their DNA to tank.
He knows his stats. If he needs to, he'll spend the last game of the season hunting assist and not shooting like Rondo to get to that triple double. The rebounds should have been the hard thing to get, but with his teammates funneling them to him, he is almost pretty much a lock for the trip dub season average.
This is very interesting. 633 assists in 63 games. We may get to observe what is more important to WB: Winning or racking up assists. The daily grind of trying to maintain the average could be a drag on their team the final 19 games.
Guarantee the next game he goes out and tries to get 15+ assists. Every time he gets close to falling off, he does this. Bet they lose as he tries this too
Westbrick gonna assist pad here on Watch him sacrifice taking it to the rim to throw a pass to some other dude to shoot
I'm not sure what's worse: watching Westbrook run around like a headless chicken trying to accumulate empty stats......or the dumb**** media wetting themselves over those empty stats.
I don't know, I mean if he really wanted assists he could dial down his scoring to get them, and he hasn't shown any real inclination to do that. I'm not so sure he is stat hunting. Think he's just this good. There will always be a slight backlash to long time front runner in the media, and think we saw that in the All Star voting and now with the implosion. Not sure it will matter. But media loves a surprise finish/story and that could be Harden overtaking Westbrook just to give them something to write about.
